You think we should try to get better bands to play at DC next year? They had Gwar and The Misfits before, why not have Living Decay, Spewtilator and other nifty local bands that rule play in the Marriott hall?

Not sure how it works to do live music shows, but we can make a petition for everyone to sign it and later submit it when we get enough signatures.

I can't recall the name, but there is a Landmark style diner on Piedmont at the North end of GSU on the east side of the street. I think it's in the ground level of some dorm. I'm guessing that's what JagerWolf is referencing as it's pretty close to D*C. Maybe it's called Panther Diner or something like that? I just can't remember. I tried Googling, but came up empty. That's probably the closest one, but there is an actual 24 hour Landmark right by the Central Library at Luckie and Forsyth. Not a bad stumble if you need 4am pancakes.

There is one 24 hour diner that is really close, and always so packed out that we don't bother even attempting to get in. So I totally forgot about it being there. This is why we fill the hotel room with snacks so we don't die of alcohol poisoning. There's a nearby Mexican place we staggered to with Master Shake but I can't remember the name of that. It was almost empty -- the Busy Con Nerd doesn't typically have time for sit-down dinners with waiters.

But the really important thing is that Willie's in the Peachtree food court makes awesome breakfast burritos. That's what kept us alive last year. God Bless You, Willie.

There's a Waffle House at GSU now. It's over by the basketball auditorium and library near Walter's, where every native Atlantan purchased shell toes at one time or another.

That place should be like fucking INTERZONE around DC.

[Edit:] I found this on Live Journal when someone answered the similar question:
Oh my god, Gwar. My first duty on staff was to use double-sided duct tape to stick plastic sheeting to both sides of large carpet remnant pieces (the Hyatt redid the carpet in their ballrooms and thoughtfully saved some of the old stuff for this purpose) to roll out over the Centennial floor for the Gwar concert. The idea was that the "Gwarpet" (as we started calling it, delirious after hours of taping) would keep the goo from getting on the ballroom carpet. Ha! Gwargoo cannot be stopped by such paltry means! Yeah, the carpet was ruined and the con had to pay for its replacement, hence no more Gwar. We did have Girly Freak Show a couple of times after that, though... no goo, just Tesla coils and firebreathing...

I wondered about the mess they made, but they let them come year after year. GWAR said in an interview once that Oderus made some pedophile jokes that the pedo head of Dragon*Con didn't think were amusing and they were asked to not come back. There are probably fifty hundred other reasons too.

Update on the Beer Backpack: I have retired Spongebob. He was leaky. The new Beer Backpack is pink cammo with a Belphegor patch and a Sargeist patch. And yesterday we picked up five cases of Yuengling. SO, if you see a pink cammo backpack with metal patches on it, introduce yourself and get a cold Yuengling. Or a hit off my flask. Or a hit off my Thermos of Cosmos.
