I've been sleeping on Ahab. How is the new one? I'm assuming the 7" is some limited pressing from Germany or something.

This one has more in common with The Giant rather than the first two. It's pretty good so far after only a couple of listens. Lacks the instant staying power of Call of The Wretched Sea and Divinity of Oceans like The Giant, too though. Don't care for the album art much again this time either. Still really solid record. My initial reaction is probably a little harsh considering Call is one of my favorite albums of all time.

The single sided 7" is included in the limited box version of the album (Napalm America still has some). It's a cover of the Alan Parsons Project song The Turn of a Friendly Card with the Sahg singer doing guest vocals. Wouldn't have guessed in a million years that they would've chosen an Alan Parsons tune, but it sounds good. Got the box mainly for that. Don't care about the useless printed flag and the silly patch with just a fucking jellyfish on it. The engraved box is nice though.

Long live dreary Ahab.

^--This!

It's good, but nothing compared to Call..., but whatever the hell they're doing about halfway through track 2--thats amazing.

Also, there are a lot of 1980's WWF Promo yelling for vocals, which is great. As well as your singing and growling that we've come to expect.

Grave -- Out of Respect for the Dead. I really liked their last release. This one doesn't break any new ground, which is a-okay in my book. Witness "Redeemed Through Hate".

Angel Witch - S/T
Angel Witch - Loser (demo)
Angel Witch - Screamin' n' Bleedin'
Cut Up - Forensic Nightmares (Basically Vomitory 2.0)
Auroch - Taman Shud (Been listening to this more and more lately)
Phlebotomized - Skycontact
Firewind - Burning Earth
The Sword - High Country
Obituary - World Demise
Deicide - The Stench of Redemption
Spectral Voice - Necrotic Doom (How I like my death metal!)

How do you like that? I listened to it once when it was released, but haven't since. I should probably give it another try.

It's as good as your mom is in bed, and the guitars are equally as fuzzy. 8)

Been pretty slow at work the past week or so. Going back and seeing who has recent releases that I've missed.

Necrowretch - With Serpents Scourge
