FLESH, SLICING, BLOOD, PAIN
Yes, I'm getting two wisdom teeth ripped out. I'm 25, and it's finally bothering me enough to do so.
How long does it take to heal from this kind of thing? Your opinion counts, kids.

I'm trying to put it off until I go live with Rich and he can take leave to take care of me after the surgery.

I got mine out at 19, mine was only like a day and a half of minor discomfort more than any actual pain. Just kind of a dull ache from time to time.
Although, I can clearly remember walking out of the doctor's office into the waiting room after being put under and having blood pour out of my mouth from a piece of gauze coming loose, and having people stare at me with horrified looks on their faces. I couldn't feel a thing nor did I know I was bleeding, I just had this goofy downs syndrome looking-grin on my face from being pumped full of painkillers.
Hell, the best part was having 2 weeks' work of painkillers to play with after only needing them for about a half a day. I remember shortly after taking them the first time I was looking down on myself sitting in my chair being completely out of it while my disembodied self was swinging around on the ceiling fan up above. Good times.
Now, if you want to talk fucking pain... about 6 weeks later I had to go back and get a blood clot cut out of the side of my tongue. This involved getting two novacaine shots to the back of my jaw (run your tongue as far back in the upper right hand corner of your mouth as you can, where your teeth end and your jawline starts, and imagine getting two needles poked there in that little spongy part), then having the joy of being wide awake but numb on one side of my face and getting to see the doctor slice open my tongue then sew it back up. Now imagine one side of your tongue swelling up to the point where it feels like you have a golf ball trapped underneath your tongue, and that golf ball tries its best to lurch its way into the back of your throat every time you try to swallow some food or some water, tugging the skin of your tongue and about a million pain-receptor nerve endings with it. My post wisdom-teeth haze was a fucking mushroom trip to lollipop dreamland compared to that.
...the only things I ever want to see near my tongue again are food, drink, and vagina.
