mgła -- With Hearts Toward None. Three years out and this album just does not get hold. I expect that it will become recognized as a classic.

Rust -- Rite of the Grave. Blackened thrash from their second EP. I couldn't find a link to the complete recording, but you get the idea.

Disfigurement -- Abyss of Hatred. Because I think I just saw Max in downtown Decatur. When the hell are we going to get another tasty slab of death metal?

Opened a rarely used desk drawer here in my office at work just yesterday, saw that CD, though of you. Strange.

Rust -- Damned Hellish Void. Rumor has it that they have been in the studio, which is fine with me, because I would like to hear more. Maybe Henry from BBQ Booking or whatever it is will bring these guys here, eventually.

Last night I discovered the Classic Metal music channel on Apple TV. I listened to it for a couple of hours while running from room to room covered in paint and gel medium.

My assessment: Lots of Maiden and Priest, lots of Metallica (I've never been a Metallica fan, but fans would have been pleased), Dio, KD, Samson (me: "If that's not Dickinson, he should sue. [asks wikipedia] Okay, good.") Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Anthrax, Rainbow. Also Whitesnake, Van Halen, GnR, somehow Jimi Hendrix, and I guess Billy Idol skated in based on his photo. Also Celtic Frost, Sarcafogo, Hellhammer, doing this from memory, Twisted Sister, Hanoi Rocks, Armored Saint, Rush, Helstar popped up a few times, Testament, the Melvins (I know I'm supposed to like the Melvins, but I don't), a KISS song that I swear sounded like Elton John from in the kitchen, and I'm sorry but I can't stay mad at RATT. SHUT UP I KNOW. Oh and a bunch of Scorpions. And some other shit I forgot.

It would kind of go back and forth between bands I would consider actually "Classic" and bands that made me question if they actually knew the definition of "Classic," and possibly the definition of "Metal." Like two people with very different tastes were fist fighting in the booth.

But it was mostly good, so I will visit it again. Thank you for your time.
