i will be gone from the 20th til the 24th, so the atlanta metal boards must live on without my essential presence and vital feedback!!!!!

The Chariot--Kenny Gibler (play the piano like a disease)

it has a pretty good melodic part in it

This one is a good progression from Chronzon. It's really brutal, then turns eerie and dark at a snap of the fingers, kinda like a roller coaster. I don't know if it's out yet in the U.S.

I thought the new Akercocke album was a re-release of their first one?

Lots of old In Flames for me lately. I hadn't listened to Lunar Strain in a while and it's hard to believe they were a borderline black metal-sounding band on that album compared to what they are now.

The new Cryptopsy, finally.

I bought it at Wherehouse, which is something I'd assumed I'd never do. Yesterday, on a whim I went there to see what they had in the "used" section, and stumbled across the Cryptopsy (in the new section) -- and noticed a big, red "SALE - $9.99" sticker near the absurd $17.99 sticker. So I asked the counter-guy if it really was on sale, or if some nut had just stuck the $9.99 thing on there. "Someone just stuck it on there," he said, then asked me, "Do you want it anyway?" For a reason that I don't currently understand, I said "yeah", and he rang it up -- for 9.99. The guy behind him said something like, "that's the answer we never expect to get." So I don't know if they have some weird policy about guaranteeing the lower price, even in such weird circumstances.

Needless to say, I was quite ecstatic.

So perhaps the moral of the story is: bring pocketsful of $.99 stickers to Wherehouse.

yeah, its actually against the law to NOT sell it to you for the sicker price.....if its their sticker that is. i've gotten a lot of cheap stuff that way. matter of fact, i'll look at every copy of a specific cd or dvd before i buy it to see if one has a misprinted price tag on it. i'd say that at least 30% of the time you can find something at least a dollar cheaper.
