Classic Rock: Van Halen

Post by Orisha » Mon May 22nd, 2006, 1:40 pm

any other van halen fans in here too? I grew up listening to them since my mom's such a fan, so theyll always have a place inside me heh

i normally dont like tribute cds much, but i just finished listening to a bluegrass van halen tribute cd on cmt.com that features david lee roth on two songs, it's actually really good. here's the tracklist:

1. Jump - David Lee Roth with the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band
2. Jamie?s Cryin? - David Lee Roth with the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band (Full Version)
3. I?ll Wait - Blue Highway
4. Runnin? with the Devil - the John Cowan Band
5. Dance the Night Away - Mountain Heart
6. Ain?t Talkin? ?Bout Love - Iron Horse
7. Hot for Teacher - David Grisman and Sons
8. Feel Your Love Tonight - Tony Trischka, Dudley Connell, Marshall Wilborn, Dave McLaughlin
9. Panama - Cornbread Red
10. Unchained - Iron Horse
11. Ice Cream Man - Larry Cordle
12. And the Cradle Will Rock? - the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band
13. Could This Be Magic? - the Nashville Bluegrass Band
14. Eruption - Dennis Caplinger
15. Jamie?s Cryin? - David Lee Roth with the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band (Radio Edit)

'Jump' was pretty well done. Especially all the solo parts.

I remember hearing "Running With the Devil" back when I was a wee lad* and thinking it was pretty awesomely heavy....I remember being surprised that Atlanta's week-kneed rock station would play it.
