WTF?

Post by NeuroNomicon » Sat July 22nd, 2006, 7:33 pm

Just what the world needs: A videogame where the user gets to play as the "Tribulation Forces", exterminating the "unrighteous" and spilling the blood of the non-believers upon the streets. How is this not under the category of hate? This is right up there with a Nazi death camp simulator or a Muslim jihadi videogame in tastelessness.

WWJD, indeed!

Dude, whatever. This game would be funny if people didn't actually believe that bullshit. I can't wait to play the sequel, where you bomb abortion clinics, hang homosexuals, and burn heavy metal bands at the stake.

This game is funny regardless. There will always be retards who believe stupid shit. I certainly don't agree with it, therefore I won't buy it or support it. Problem solved.

Well...

...It's good to see some reasonable responses. Blaze, you know what's up. The problem with most churches nowadays, especially nowadays, is that they have become multi-million dollar operations. Veritable "Jesus Domes". That being said, were Jesus to come back, do you think he would be pastoring in a place like this?

If Jesus were to run for president would any of contemporary Christiandom even give him their collective vote?

The modern church, as a whole, has become so disconnected with Christ's teachings as to have become an entity in, and of, itself.

i agree with you for the most part here. its blatantly obvious that a lot of the modern church body has become obsessed with marketing the name of Jesus for massive profit. ontop of that you have this "christian only" subculture that is forced down many people throats every single day of their life....thus leading to a huge market for these types of scams.

but i think its also important to not blame christianity or Christ as a whole for people selling out their beliefs for profit. its an age old problem that is even addressed in the bible. i understand most peoples hatred of christianity and Christ b/c so much harm is done under that veil.

Blaze is quite correct...

Post by NeuroNomicon » Sun July 23rd, 2006, 6:34 pm

...Blaze is quite correct. There is almost a coordinated effort to derail the church, and turn Jesus into a marketable/profitable commodity. It is those who claim to act on "behalf" of Christ that defile any goodness that is in his name. His essence was hijacked. The church has, successfully, turned "Christianity" into a political movement, moreso than a spiritual communion with God.

Would Jesus covert by gauntlet or gospel?

A house divided does not stand upon a bedrock of principle. Like vipers they worship in words, and not in spirit.

Actually I don't go to church for the same reason you hate it.

This game is based on the 'pre-tribulation rapture theory' which is a misunderstanding of what the bible teaches.
To bad it will be decieving even more people with its "left behind"nonsense.

It's frightening considering how many people ascribe to the extremism of dudes like Hal Lindsay and these Left Behind guys. What's more worrisome concerning the pre-tribulation/rapture crowd, is that it comes kissed with the curse of nihilistic fringe; they feel as though any human actions are irrelevent due to Divine intervention, etc. Meanwhile, the world burns, and they can justify almost any unwholesome under the cowardice of indifference. WWJD?
