This was in the Outer Banks, Corolla, NC. My family meets there once a year. None of us had done this before, just kinda figured it out.

Your sand sculptures are not only lovely, but quite "metal" as well. The beard was rather impressive in its own right.

Thanks about the beard, a little kid with a thick southern accent came up to us in the middle of construction and asked if it was Osama Bin-Laden.

Wow, those look great!


They've just held the worldwide sand-sculpting competitions within the last few weeks, I think. Someone sent me a link to pics from there and some of the sculptures are HUGE, and drop-dead amazing! I'll see if I can dig it up; hope I didn't delete the email. (It was recent, so Google might have something...)

I think I saw them, was the competition in South Africa somewhere? That stuff is absolutely insane.

Nope, that's a professional sand-sculpting firm. Looks awesome.

The one I saw was an outdoor event on a beach....some truly stunning work, too.
