PRIDE 33.....

Post by BlazeTSU » Sun February 25th, 2007, 11:48 am

i know that there are a few MMA fans on the boards thesedays and was wondering if anybody else caught PRIDE 33 last night?

it was an exciting card with a ton of upsets. the multitude of upsets gave the night a "what the hell?" type of feel........in a good way. like hands on the side of your head, mouth wide open, eyes buggin out kinda "what the hell?"

and i love the fact that when you drop $40 on a PRIDE ppv you get to see all nine fights of the night. you get your money's worth out of it every time.

UFC next week and it looks like a solid card.

and speaking of the UFC, i don't guess we'll be seeing wandy vs. chuck anymore. wandy has been put on cro cop and hendo's highlight reels in the past 6 months so a fight with chuck just seems pointless now. its time for the shogun/chuck chants now.

I was thinking about having a party for UFC 68.
Would you come up for this, Blaze?

more than likely, yeah. i usually have UFC parties at my house but i was thinking about not doing it for UFC 68 b/c i ordered PRIDE last night. i'm not really into ordering $80 worth of ppv's a month.

let me know if you decide to do it.

but i must warn you........i'm a total nerd when it comes to fighting. i totally nerd out about fighting, football, baseball and metal.

Yeah I agree what a let down I was really hoping to see the fight with wandy and chuck. Oh well fuck it guess we will have to just wait for Rampage.

I am also wondering if they are going to just give cro cop a shot at the title or is he going to have to fight his way there if so that should be pretty good.

they are giving Cro Cop one more fight before a title shot. he is fighting gabriel gonzaga on April 21st.

i think i'd rather see Shogun and Chuck go at it more than Rampage/Chuck II. i think rampage would beat him again. not that i think rampage is a better fighter, i just think his style is tailor made to beat chuck.

I know it's getting close, but I still haven't decided if I want to spend the $40.
I'll let you know.

i think i'm just going to watch it at a bar. all the guys i usually watch the fights with have been calling and whatnot and since you are undecided i'll probably just hit up a bar with them.

but we should plan on getting together for one of the next few that are coming up. i'd gladly throw some money on it.........and beer!

Well did anyone see the fight between Randy and Tim?
Seems as though Randy was right about Tim playing it safe.
Guess Tim was wrong about Randy being past his prime if that was the case it really makes Tim look bad but then again just watching Tim fight proves the point.

That fight was boring as shit (I'm not a fan of fights being practically ALL on the ground) and Tim Sylvia is a fucking turd.
He got his ass whooped by a 43 year old.
LOLZ.

are you serious????

that fight was exciting as hell! one of the best fights i've seen in years and years. and they stood up a lot. the entire 3rd round was on their feet and and all the ground'n'pound was setup by randy beating the piss out of tim on his feet.

i loved the fight. everyone at the bar i was at were going nuts, the crowd was going nuts and its all the buzz in the MMA media.

and randy beats everyones ass.....he did the same thing to chuck, tito, pedro rizzo, vitor belfort. he is by far my favorite fighter. every fight he is in is exciting......save the last two chuck fights. the first rematch was shaping up to be a war until the famous chuck eyepoke(i'm no hating on chuck, i like him, but he does have an uncanny knack for landing that damn right EYEPOKE!)

anyway, i thought all the fights were good. the UFC needs more events like this that are exciting throughout and not just lopsided first round KO's.

I used to do BJJ with John from Neuronomicon. It was great fun 'til I tore my rib connector. Now that I'm done with playing music, I'm seriously consideirng getting back in the fray. Anyone want to do some MMA?
