Here's something to make you feel good about yourself:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/connected/ma ... etal21.xml
Researchers found that, far from being a sign of delinquency and poor academic ability, many adolescent "metalheads" are extremely bright and often use the music to help them deal with the stresses and strains of being gifted social outsiders.

We had this posted on the other board I'm on. Really interesting.

That's a remarkably
unscientific survey. They
started with a group of gifted kids and backed into their conclusion regrding heavy metal.
It's as if I took a poll of, say, 1,000 registered Democrats, and concluded that hey presto, most of them hated George W. Bush.
The comment posted after the article actually makes more sense than their survey itself.....start with an average group of kids and
then see what you get. (In England, you'd probably get a bunch of football hooligans.

)

This may all be true.
But I'm still as hell gonna believe it.

Well, yeah.
Most of the metalheads I know are pretty bright and reasonably cool. But if I wanted to do a scientific survey of them, I'd go to East Bumblefuck High School, not Paideia Academy or Woodward.
