Voivod

I have been lisning to alot of voivod lately. and wow,they have to be one of my fav. bands of all time,they surpased even greats like Bathory and Venom at that time. My fav. albums personally is "Dimension Hatross" and "Killing Technology".This music was made so long ago,yet it stays timeless. They created such atmosphere in their music,expecially with their themes of their music and art. even then artwork when it came to covers of albums all fit perfectly (all artwork was done by their drummer named "Away"). So long ago were they good. they started to suck after angelrat. Because the bassist "blacky" left. and he was the influence to the whole atmosphere of the band.
from the beginning to ending of the albums all the way through are trippy journys into a Sci-fi like world were machines and horror has taken over earth. their whole theme of technology taking over. and this future-world were everything is in darkness and run by some sort of Master Computer is great. they incorporate the sound of this,expecially with using the guitar effects,and strumming on very high notes of the guitar while using distortion. their guitarist recently died (R.I.P),viovod is now In remission,a dead machine. but there is no other experience Like lisening to the forgotten sounds of a image of a future world.
Almost,as if you were traveling Into space. things you have never even imagined.

Wow. The 12 year grows up with good taste.
Voivod is fucking amazing.

I read an interview with Denis, I think, back in the '80's, about how the band came together. If I remember correctly, he came up with this idea of a barbarian horde that would travel through time as a source for lyrical content and the name of the band would be Voivod. He was completely sold on the idea.

The guys were already playing together under a different name, and Snake basically said, "Our name is going to be Voivod." He said that he didn't tell about them about the concept or the reason for the name until later.

Disinformation? Joke on the interviewer at the time? Too many shots of Jaeger have abused my poor memory in the intervening 20 years? You be the judge.

Back in the day, I never really cared for Voivod. I saw them back in '89 or '90 or something, and it was a pretty grueling experience.
