Hellboy II

Post by kamal » Wed July 2nd, 2008, 9:12 pm

Anyone else kind of pumped about this?

I really liked the comics and the first movie so this looks like it could be fun. And apparently Nergal is playing the bad guy so that's pretty cool.

Don't you mean something else? From wikipedia, "In the movie Hellboy, the demon Sammael is called the Son of Nergal. In the comic version of same, one of the heads of the villain Ogdru Jahad is referred to as Nergal Jahad."

I was totally kidding. I just thought this guy looked like a member of Behemoth.

It's the same director, anyway. I hear he only did Hellboy II so he could have funding for The Orphanage or something like that...

I cannot wait for this movie! Its gonna donky punch you all with the Right Hand of DOOM! I really like the first one but the trailer for the sequel look even more over the top, just like the comic!

Guillermo del Toro is actually friends with Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy, and is a huge comic fan. Look at his sketchbook for Pan's Labyrinth. Also, he was only the producer for The Orphanage.
And yeah the bad guy does look a hell of a lot like Nergal! It'd be cool if the soundtrack were metal.

I saw it too - very good times. I thought it went a little long and would have liked more one-liners but apart from that it was great. Good action, excellent creature effects, and Ron Perlman.

It got me a little psyched for the Hobbit.
