The Biggest Shock I've seen!

Post by Ghost of DarkWolfen » Tue January 27th, 2009, 5:12 am

http://www.amazon.com/Light-Day-Darknes ... 702&sr=8-3

Amazon is selling Green Carnation Light of Day, Day of Darkness for $.99.

It's an hour long for a dollar? A whole album for a dollar?

How does Green Carnation make money off of this?

Because it's only 1 song technically

You can also buy the new Moonsorrow album for $2 on iTunes

This looks like a travesty think about how long it was to make this song and it's being sold for a buck? I feel bad for Tchort that put so much time into that awesome song.

Yet, then again this is the Amerikwa and worst things have happened.

Well, it's $0.99 more than goes their way if someone rips it online.

...for whatever that's worth.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Depending on their contracts artists may never see a dime from online sales. I remember Weird Al telling people to just torrent his music instead of buying it on itunes cause he gets no money from itunes sales. If I really care to support an artist I'll buy directly from their website as that source will be most likely to directly get funds to them.

Yeah I read in the bathroom reader (uncle john...haha) that iTunes gets most of it and after the record label gets a lot, the band barely gets anything at all. So I don't ever buy things from iTunes anymore...never did that much anyways though.
