Mosh pits

Post by MaleficSounds » Thu May 28th, 2009, 8:24 am

Whats up with those stupid dicks who throw their fists and legs around in a mosh pit????? I HATE those fucks most of all. Its a pretty lame way to get into the mosh pit. Those are the people i like to go and slam into. Its like those dudes are asking to get into a fight to show how hardcore they are. I understand the accidental smack on the face from being pushed uncontrolably, but the turds who really just want to hit someone????? Screw them. I got to a show to listen to music and when the times right i like to get into the mosh to let some energy out. I hope there's a code or an understanding to drill these turd ass skitso so they don't do it again. Eh, just a thought.

Maybe I am not following... but I remember fists, feet, elbows and knees being a part of the pits back in the day. I have seen people doing what they call 'dancing' which is more like watching a 5 year old try martial arts for the first time. Is that what you are talking about? I don't really get into pits anymore but that stuff was coming online towards the end of my involvement in the pits. My thoughts on that were along the lines of, if I go in there knowing I am going to get hit... I suppose I don't really care how I get hit so long as it isn't personal. My problem with that bunch are the ones that wear gear to protect themselves from being hurt. My thought on that is, don't wanna get hurt, don't get in.

I can't tell you how many of my friends got broken bones and lost teeth from those old pits. The only notable injury I ever got was loosing enough blood to lose consciousness at a Napalm Death show. Small cut... but it bled like crazy.

Yes it does look like spaz dancing in a way. But If your going into the pit to kick people and punch right off the bat then i got a problem with that. Yes mosh pits are suppose to be brutal and bones and teeth get knocked out on ACCIDENT. running into a mosh pit with elbows and knees is one thing running into the pit swinging your fist and kicking is another.

Not sure how much of an accident I would call it. haha. I remember that those people got dealt with that did get in there who ramped up the violence. Maybe not so now. Just don't know. Kids today...

Pits were a nicely self-regulated things.

I remember way, way, way back in the day we even kept our arms down. That all changed, though, sometime in the late '80's or early '90's. I pretty much gave up on pits in the early '90's, when I got clocked and thought my jaw was broken.

hahaha I've mentioned my grievences on this before...like that asshole who pulled my legs right out from under me causing me to land hard on my back knocking the wind out of me for probably 2 minutes. For those who don't know, I'm female...the guy who did that freaked when he saw me spasming on the floor. If my b/f was there, he would've got his ass kicked rightfully so!

I like going into the pit sometimes, I know they're not supposed to tickle and I expect to get bruises and elbows and to get knocked over but I don't expect to get punched, karate kicked or get my legs pulled out from under me! :o
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

This I agree with. Pits rule but fuck the obvious dumbass juggalos who decide to go to a metal show and just start throwing punches or trying to be a dick.

haha, I got a concussion at a show back in March from getting punched in the face in the pit...

I don't really have much of a problem with people dancing anymore. I used to think it was fucking stupid but over the past year or so I've gotten really into hardcore and now I've realized that for most people, it's all in good fun. Most people aren't trying to hit people, but it happens if you're standing right next to someone who is flailing their arms wildly.

You're gonna find douchebags who go to shows just to be violent in all kinds of music. Metal, hardcore, nu-metal, Nickelback type shit, etc. It's best to just ignore them i guess.

Mosh pits have always been violent. It always seemed to me like the degree of violence was directly related to the band playing at the time. That said, the hardest I've ever been hit in the pit was by a good friend of mine who didn't even know it was me. He caught me right in the jaw with his elbow.

Now it seems like mosh pits are nothing but kids having karate practice VS big dudes having football practice. I generally stay the hell out of it, but I like being close to the stage so if I get hit/pushed I'll shove back, etc. I don't care what the karate kids do as long as they stay the hell away from me.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!
