Dragon*Con

Post by Diana » Mon August 31st, 2009, 9:47 am

Since basically everyone on this board is in a band, are any of you guys playing Dragon*Con? The book is unhelpful and the website is a joke wrapped in an enigma, so I figured I'd ask. Looks like it's mostly Celtic and goth stuff.

I will be spending four days downtown redefining the word "shitfaced." If anyone wants a hit off my flask, look for me:

I will be the one dressed as Gary Gygax sipping Mai Tais at Trader Vic's.

Are you going to that Trader Vic's thing? We're staying at the Hilton so apparently we get in free, otherwise it costs like $20. And that's pretty much all I know about it...

Also, if you're dressed like Gygax be prepared to get covered in my husband's tears. That was a black day at our house.

I've only "gone" to Dragon Con once and I really can't say I've been there because Trader Vic's turned me into a pile of Goober Grape via Zombies, Sailor's Grog, and other assorted nastiness.

All I remember was every other girl was dressed as Lara Croft and there were lots of guys in Batman costumes. I think I almost got arrested for trying to kiss Erin Gray.

Gygax is a fucking icon. Someone should snag that name for their Death Metal band. Maybe I should do that...

LOL Erin Gray is still holding it together. Girlfriend is smokin.'

I'm currently composing my fanboy retard speech to Doug Bradley. How many times do you think I can lick him before they call security? Like eight maybe?

My greatest fantasy is a Colin Abrahall/Doug Bradley Steel Cage Match for my affections.

I'm sorry, I have to go be alone for a second.

Halftime entertainment provided by a Lordi/GWAR Steel Cage Match. We make Erin Gray the Ring Card Girl and we might have something here.

Dudes, if you're downtown this weekend and want a backpack beer, PM me (I just figured those out...) and I'll get you my number. I would truly welcome a respite from hipsters. TRULY. You will be doing me a favor.

Now I'm going to get back to being useless at work while I count the minutes.

I'll be working at the Utilikilts booth on Saturday.

...and most likely getting completely faced on Saturday night.

Awesome. We usually do the dealer room on Saturday. And may I say, it is hot as balls in that room and I do not envy you.

Can you drink at the booth? I'll bring the Maker's. :D

That's the beauty of the Utilikilt. Lightweight and ventilated. :)

I'm not "Technically" allowed to drink at the booth, but the guys I'm working with seem pretty laid back...so we'll see.

Hopefully I'll see you there. I'll be wearing a camo kilt and probably some kind of metal shirt.

I went last night for the afterparties.
BEST NIGHT EVER.

Was planning to go again tonight, but the people we were going with ditched my friend and me.
Fuck them, I wanted to go to Dragoncon!
