A Fucked Shuffle

Post by Jinglepup » Fri December 18th, 2009, 7:44 pm

I was at the gym and grew tired of my current playlists and hit shuffle. I have about 570 songs on it. The first song was Amorphis Black Winter Day then a couple songs later Amorphis, The Orphan then about three songs later, Amorphis Black Winter Day (Live). There are only about 15 songs total on it.

What the hell?
I mourn as and with DarkWolfen as our metal hero is gone. :(

I have 8,200 songs on my ipod and it STILL plays Cannibal Corpse over and over when I put it on shuffle.

Mine likes to do a parade of Rammstein ballads while I'm helpless in the shower. It's happened at least three times. I can't get fired up and ready for my day under those conditions.

AHAHAHA!

Yeah I also have a shitton of songs on mine so it usually doesn't play the same shit over and over.

What hearless bastard loaded such shitty music into your ipod? That was a pretty cruel joke.

I'm just giving you shit. I can't fucking stand Rammstein. If I want to hear industrial music I've got plenty of Ministry, Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Pitchshifter and Godflesh for that.

Anyway, yeah, my ipod totally gets into "Moods" when I hit shuffle. Every 4th song will be Slayer on one trip or Sepultura on another. I don't mind though. it seems to have pretty good taste.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

I've noticed this, too. It's probably just a random effect, but on the other hand, iPods DO have "genre" as one of the song tags.....kinda makes ya wonder if it's making a small effort to "play deejay."

Then don't ever listen to the new one. I thought they had matured past using that much fucking keyboard, but we're talking Sehnsucht levels here. My friend Ulrich refers to this sort of thing as "blocky," meaning rubes from the Eastern Block that don't know any better. HA!

I can guarantee that won't be a problem. :D

A friend of mine gave me their first disc because he didn't like it but knew that I liked more Industrial stuff than he did. I already knew I didn't like Du Hast, but figured I'd give the rest of the album a shot. I made it through about half of it, had a good laugh, but started to feel that if I continued listening then the joke was on me.

As far as keys in more guitar-driven tunes go, for me it isn't about the amount of keyboard, but rather what it adds to the song. But if they sit too high in the mix it grates on my nerves.

I don't know of any others except Mutter. There are others?

Seemann
Stein Um Stein
Ohne Dich
Amour
Nebel
Stirb Nicht vor Mir
Feuer Und Wasser

If there's a ballad, my shuffle will find it or die trying. You should come over one day and we'll hide in the shower and see what else it finds, because I'm sure this list is incomplete.

Oh, another thing it likes to do is play a different version of the same song I just listened to. That's a fun game. Like I can't start my day without two versions of Lord Abortion.
