Shane you must have misread...Ididnt make the cut (along with several hundred others...it's really competitive because ofthe economy. Nobody is leaving the Air Force because jobs are pretty much non- existent right now). I'm gonna try again though. It's just gonna be awhile because there's a mandatory 180 day minimum wait between boards you can apply to. Hopefully, by then the economy will be somewhat better and they'll be letting more folks in.

In the meantime, I'm going to focus on class and getting into a grad school.

And...this sort of thing happens. My friend Drew recently joined the Army and was hoping to become tank crew, but some sort of written test foiled his plans and he has to settle for a mechanic's billet...at least for now.

Old thread but I got selected!

The board I got selected on was the first one since the board I went for back in 2010. There was one in January but that got cancelled...I was going for that but due to the cancellation, whoever applied for that one got rolled over into this one.

Man, this has been one hell of a year for me! First I get accepted into grad school for meteorology and now this! It's fuckin awesome when you get what you want! I put several years of hard work into both of these things though...it was not easy. There were times I felt like giving up. I was a non-select for the board in 2010 and FSU denied me back in 2008. I said that's not acceptable. So, I took a shitton of math and physics classes, joined the Civil Air Patrol, lost some weight, and just made myself into a better person. The second time around, I made it!

It looks like if all goes well with the physical and clearance, I'll be leaving for OTS next summer. That means I won't finish grad school...I'll finish one year at FSU and will just have to finish later. It will be there, this chance to be an officer won't. All I know is I'm stoked!

Oh yeah, I'll be a combat systems officer. I'll be in the cockpit helping the pilot and probably firing missiles!

Really old thread and some of you already know cause of fb but I am gonna be on the Gunship! I'll be on the AC-130W...it has big guns, missiles and bombs

I'll blast some.Bolt Thrower while fuckin shit up!

As for flight school, been doin this shit for a year, got only 6 flights left. Weather sucks...we're stuck at an airport right now because the weather is below takeoff minimums. Yeah, it's Sunday lol. Hopefully I'll be done by next Friday so I can just go fly my plane and shoot missiles. Lol
