It's almost time to close the book on 2004, a year that saw a lot of great shows and releases.

With that in mind here are my top 10 albums of 2004, in no particular order (after #1 anyways):

Vehemence - Helping The World To See
Arsis - A Celebration Of Guilt
Lamb Of God - Ashes Of The Wake
Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer
Nasum - Shift
Anata - Under A Stone With No Inscription
Mastodon - Leviathan
Carnal Forge - Aren't You Dead Yet?
Decapitated - The Negation
Hatesphere - Ballet Of The Brute

so what are yours?

Arsis - Celebration of Guilt
Into Eternity - Buried in Oblivion
Crotchduster - Big Fat Box of Shit
Necrophagist - Epitaph

I can't quite recall when the last 3 were released but i was introduced to them in 04 so they're on the list
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.

I think EJ will be the only one on here that gets that joke.

I can't think of any albums that came out this year that I liked...

The Biolich 2004 promo was good
The Axis of Advance CD that came out was good....But I still can't remember the title

Well for me the albums were not ones that came out neccessarily in 2004, but I will name the ones I bought this year that I really thought were good.

Opeth-Damnation
Opeth-Blackwater Park
Agalloch-The Mantle
Moonspell-Darkness and Hope
Tristania-World of Glass
Therion-Sirius B/Lemuria
George Strait-50 number 1s (fuck off)
Alabama-Greatest hits (again fuck off)
Hammerfall-Crimson Thunder

Will buy in 2005:
Rest of Opeth's collection
Ayreon's new one
perhaps some After Forever
Bathory-Blood and Ice (but want that now) :m3t4l:

NP: Iron Maiden-Search For Truth

LAME! If only it were that easy. :)

Those are odd titles for country CDs. I wouldn't expect gentlemen of that calibre to resort to harsh language, especially on an album title. :P

I'm in the market for more Bathory m'self, having liked what we've played on WREKage from them lately. Then again, I bought a Venom 2-CD 'best of' (handy for the Venom requests that we tend to get), and...it's vanished. So, why bother? I'll probably just lose it too. :wh4cky:

Muzt also find more Mnemic. And those damned Aeturnus and Summoning CDs that still elude me. And, if Deathgasm has any, some stuff by Rwake.

Two albums that definitely deserve some notice are:

Vader - The Beast
Pro-Pain - Fistful Of Hate

Had I heard these two albums a couple of weeks ago, they would have made my list. :m3t4l:

Yeah I know, Paul, I need to find some more Mercenary, another progpower band. One song I heard was really good, heavy and frankly different.

Plus maybe some Orphaned Land. No one sounds like them. So the expansion of new metal goes on. :m3t4l:
