What's your favorite non-metal band/group?
Just went to see Flogging Molly last night at the Tabernacle and remembered why they were one of my favorite non metal bands. other mentions have to include Aphex Twin, Bad Brains, Primus, and Pink Floyd, among others. what else do you crazy kids like to listen to?

Either Rome or post-Marriage Ulver, probably.

I love fusion jazz. European Mantra (Gergo Borlai is a madman on the skins), Screaming Headless Torsos, shit like that.Jordan wrote:fusion jazz is some good shit. my dad gave me some return to forever records back in the day. my friend and i listened to some mahavishnu back in middle school.
I also love Radiohead. I've been hooked to their music since OK Computer came out.
311 is another one. Mainly from Transistor and back. Their new stuff doesn't do anything for me.
Jamiroquai, of all things, is another. LOL.
To name just a few off the top of my head - I could go on forever...
The Byrds
Joe Walsh (anything up to There Goes the Neighborhood...Barnstorm is in my possibly best album ever category)
The Sugarcubes (including the KUKL albums)
Frank Zappa
Miracle Legion
Cocteau Twins
The Pretenders
The Magnetic Fields (pre "i")
Meat Puppets

The Tea Party
The Grassy Knoll
Pigface
Guided by Voices
Morphine (these last three usually require me to be inebriated, I don't know why)
And even though I usually can't sit through an entire album's worth of goth, the original Goth Rock comp on Cleopatra is one of my favorite things.
I like trance music, too, but I've never gotten any further than listening to compilations or whatever's on satellite radio at any given time.
And classical: Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart (duh) and Shostakovich, especially, though every once in a while I have to hear something weird like Alban Berg or Harry Partch.
Now I feel like listening to all of the above. Sometimes music is a curse.

yeah i've been getting into some trance and electronica as of late. theres some really solid stuff out there but sometimes i feel its like trying to find a needle in a haystack.DeathfareDevil wrote:I like trance music, too, but I've never gotten any further than listening to compilations or whatever's on satellite radio at any given time.
