I got bored. Here's where my money goes.

Somewhere near ... 800 cd's, I think.

I want to see everyone's stash.

I have about 800 or so CDs as well. In my teenage years, I moved around ALOT (like 6 or 7 times) so in order to lighten the load I had to throw away the jewel cases so most of my CDs live in huge CD binders now. I didn't throw away the covers though...that would be dumb!

I have it typed up cause I'm weird like that but it would be too long to post here!

I'd say out of all my CDs, maybe 150, if that, aren't metal. The rest are. Most of the non-metal ones are from when I didn't know about it...hence the Korn and NoDoubt CDs lol I know, I totally just lost some metal points by admitting that! I have a fair amount of classic rock CDs as well...I'm not embarassed by that haha
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

This looks like a really good idea. I'm always in CD Warehouse or Book Nook going "do I have this already?" and then buying it and finding out I do.

Also I think I have that exact Vivaldi - Greatest Hits CD even though Vivaldi is too damn happy all the time.

Here's a photo of our collection:

The best picture I can take right now. The case holds about 1500 or so and I might have around 1400 so here it is.
@ Diana: It would be great to remember all I have but it is a challenge when I step into FYE. We don't have CD Warehouses anymore here....
P.S. They are all alphabetical right to left and the digi's are in plastic sleeves to keep any bugs out.

I'm gonna go ahead and have Metalfreak come over and type them all up for me. Then I'll send her to your place. :)

Alphabetized right to left? Are you Arabic?

I miss CD Wherehouse, too. FYE is good for snatching up new releases when they're on sale or digging stuff out of their used section -- like say, when someone like me sells a hundred of his CD's to pay for vet bills. Plus those going out of business sales have brought me much joy. My FYE closed down a couple years ago and I pillaged it with great aplomb.

Seriously, though, I have never counted. I'm guessing that I have between 400 and 500 cds. Probably 1/2 are metal.

When I was at WRAS still, I actually went ahead and typed up everything we had in the metal section...I think there were twice as many there than what I had at the time...so maybe 1300- 1400 CDs. Who knows what they have now or even if the DJ keeps up with that. I'm wierd when it comes to my CDs...like OCD wierd. Haha

It took hours and hours! Yeah I'm a dork shut up!

Oh, and mine are separated by genre (no, not subgenres of metal, that would be too ridiculous!) and all alphabetized...just not right to left lol ;)

Hasn't been updated in a while to the site, since generating the HTML table is a bear. Probably about 60-70% metal, I'm guessing.

Serious lack of vinyl in this thread.

I have no idea what percentage of my collection is metal. Maybe 35-40%. I've been collecting music for 29 years. What is not metal is punk, glam, oi, classic rock, new wave, soul, reggae, soundtracks, plain ol' rock n' roll, etc...

There's 3 of these 12" vinyl bins and and about another bin floating around that needs to be integrated or sold.

There's about 15 12-pack sized bins of 7'.

I have no idea how many CDs and DVDs. Most DVDs are music related. There's another big stack of DVDs in the bedroom and quite a few large boxes of CDs that have been weeded and need to be sold.
