Currently rereading my nephew's texts. He's taking the SAT next weekend and he's nervous. Here's his description:

Ha i have noo idea lol its
at my school is all i know
lol and it lasts 4 hours

Ha yeah it still doesnt
sound like fun lol

I asked him about the projects he's doing in his web design class and got this response:

Yea ... The ones we do in
class are so stupid lol they
are so cheezy lol they are
used to apply skills lol ...
But yeah I can do other
ones

She makes us do book
ones that are stupid lol
they dont even look real
lol shes not creative

I think I'm going to start compiling these into a mini-zine. They're all like this and I have tons of them. It's like a weird kind of poetry. Also it kind of makes me weep for the future lol.

One day he and his girlfriend had a fight and I didn't get a "lol" for like ten minutes. I almost put him on suicide watch.

I finally started reading this Keith Richards bio that my brother gave me. In large print.

I feel like it's shouting at me.

I know. I feel for co-writer James Fox having to try to figure out what the fuck Keef just said. Maybe he threw in the towel and just made some shit up.

Hey stew, you remember that episode of the Simpsons where Ranier Wolfcastle has a yard sale? And every single item has a concealed sword: "Everything is sword. Umbrella is sword, sword is sword," I think he has a sword in a pie, etc. Well whoever wrote that joke is familiar with this BUDK catalog for realz.

How long do you think a $10 crossbow will last? I'm tempted.

Drugs are Nice - Lisa "Suckdog" Crystal Carver
Some of y'all may remember Rollerderby zine from the mid-90s, one of the first "personal" zines. I loved that rag and picked it up whenever it hit the stands. This is her autobiography from 2005. It chronicles her life up that time and has a big focus on her time with Boyd Rice. She has a pretty entertaining take on Anton LaVey, too.

I assume you've heard Drugs Are Nice. I haven't listened to it in ages but was pretty impressed with how bad it was.

I've avoided hearing SUCKDOG again for a very long time. Love the writing, the music...not so much...
