I need a case of those wolf shirts for xmas.
An American Demon - Jack Grisham
I'm only a little ways into this and I'm not sure what to think. Is it an autobiography or some twisted fiction?
Dude was/is the singer for TSOL, one of my all time favorite bands and he's a well known psycho. Jack Grisham stories have always been a blast and my hopes were high for this to be a crazy ass memoir, but instead...Dude tells his story as if he is a demon on earth. No, seriously, he wants the reader to buy into his being a demon. Not just a psycho, but a fucking demon. More than a little silly, and it's starting to piss me off because I'm ready for some tales of TSOL/punk rock gang insanity and I'm just getting this crap about how he's a child demon without a conscience. I'm moving through it painfully slowly because I've had hella little reading time and it's nowhere as compelling as I was certain it would be, being the memoir of Jack Fucking Grisham and all. I keep hoping that it will turn a corner. If/when it does, I just hope it doesn't end like every rock star bio does nowadays with the dude, clean, sober and loving his boring ass life.

Big bummer, man. I love Borders, though, I too, purchase way more from Amazon. Still, over the years I've given thousands to Borders for sure.
I hate that Barnes and Noble is the last man standing. That place sucks balls compared to Borders.
I still give anything for a return of Oxford. That place was the shit. Or Tower, they had the best rock n' roll book section ever.

yea
the book nook and crystal blue are big ones for me as well
, of the three books i am reading now , two were from borders and one is from the library , but the library is limited on horror and the more occult oriented non -fiction , they do pretty well with sci fi and fantasy
the changing retail landscape is starting to effect the flow of new books coming out i notice the same old shit the past few months, i guess i am going to start going to those book fairs in decatur and toco hills,
similar to music where i am having to go bak a re-read things i haven't picked up since high school,

Damn. That's fucking crazy. Used to shop at the one off Ponce but I usually buy books second-hand from real live bookstores (Book Nook, A Capella, Booksomething [North High?])Moloc wrote:Looks like I'll be looking for a new job soon:
