Maybe moving to Atlanta

Post by Generubin » Fri February 25th, 2011, 4:37 am

Looking for a one bed room for around $400. It doesn't have to be shitty but it doesn't have to be great. As long as it's within the Atlanta area.

Any advice? Just looking to get an idea.

It's a good resource...just make sure you map anything you're interested in first. Don't move to Stockbridge.

and stockbridge was really random. i was hoping he had a juicy story to tell me about the shithole.

Yeah, I'm in Morrow (which is a bit worse than Stockbridge), but I think he just meant to check where you're looking at geographically so you don't wind up half an hour away from where you're trying to move.

At the time I posted the craigslist link, the first 20-odd links were to places in Stockbridge. I was just warning the guy. Nothing against it personally, it's just not Atlanta.

But I hear Southside Steve's is pretty goddammned kickin'!

HAHAHA We considered booking a gig there (since we're actually from the southside of town and can draw a decent crowd there), but apparently they only book cover bands. They don't want bands like us scaring off their regular clientele.

Stuff off of Burford Hwy is pretty reasonable and pretty close. And there is a lot of good food around!

And I am so glad that I don't live in Riverdale anymore...it seems like the drive up to the city is way worse than the drive down.

The drive from south of Atlanta isn't that bad to me. It'a always the drive back that's shitty.

That being said if you're looking to start a band, don't fucking come south of Atlanta. Look for a place in marietta or something, There ain't shit down here.

Preach it. I'm moving back over there and am so stoked about all the killer food for cheap. I love that area, it's just a bit far north for me, if I had everything my way.

Depends on what you are into. I've lived about 5 minutes south of 20 for the last 9 years. It's close to EAV, Grant Park, L5P, only about 10 minutes from Midtown, pretty much all the heppening spots. I like it. It can be dangerous, but so can anywhere. Use your head and you are fine.
