Camping out for tickets ruled. Such good times of cheap beer, acid and hanging out with all kinds of insaniacs. And the cops never came around. So odd.
The first concert I remember camping out for was the "Blizzard of Ozz" tour with Motorhead as the opener.

Yeah. That was good stuff. Tom HATED those years.

Sleyja, are those the USA Up All Night version of Night Flight? That show wasn't quite the same thing, but it was cool, too.

Not the Rhonda Shear thing - Tom Juarez took over Night Flight around '89 or '90 - All the eps I have are with him as host.

Yeah! I totally need that dvd. If only for the Joan Jett intie I've never seen. I remember seeing Kiss on Snyder. Man, he was not pleased.

I saw Rock n Roll High School and Suburbia and Repo Man and Decline of the Western Civilization I & II and Dr Dimento and Germs and Suicidal Tendencies and Fear and Circle Jerks and WASP and Plasmatics videos on Night Flight. What a killer "show." Whoever programmed/currated it was the shit.

When did the USA Up All Night thing start with Joe Bob Briggs? Monstervision or something like that? I think Gilbert Godfrey hosted once too.

Don't forget Times Square and Rude Boy.

How about New Wave Theater? That was The Best.

There's a bunch of good info here:

Yeah. New Wave theater was the best. Some of those go an official release on VHS. I have vol 1 and 2.

You have Volume 1? I've never been able to find that. I bought my copy of Vol. 2 on VHS from Oxford Books in Buckhead when they were murdered by Borders and B&N.

Can, I please, please, please have a copy of Vol. 1?

Yeah, it was up on the hill and looked down on Oxford Books and Baskin Robbins and Jalisco etc. Cup & Chaucer.... Fucking newspapers from all over the US and world. Killer magazines/zines...

I would just go there on Friday nights when I was bored and stay late as hell and look through all the art books. There would always be some mensas upstairs at C&C arguing about Bergman or existentialism around 2 a.m.

Pharr Rd was killer too. Aggggh. Fuck. The movie rentals! Fuck! My buddy and I would get drunk at Mellow Mushroom and walk over there and rent Russ Meyer and Cassavettes flicks and talk to that dude Greg about GG Allin and The Shaggs. We were going to interview him for our zine that we never wrote. He works at the Yacht Club now.

I <3 you.

Just tell me where to send you $ for postage and supplies and let me buy you copious tall boys when we are in the same building. That's all I ask.

We used to drive like 35 minutes to eat at that place... then it went downhill for some reason. They had the best salsa and a damn tasty chicken burrito/enchilada/etc.
