Post by BlazeTSU » Tue February 22nd, 2005, 9:11 pm

this new cephalic carnage has some strong mastodon influence.....at least what i've heard. sounds good though, some clean vocals, some nice creative groove

has anyone else heard any of it?

I've heard one track. Some of it was very cool, some of it wasn't.

I've heard 'Dying will be the Death of Me' and 'Sleeprace' and the first i think is awesome. Sleeprace took a few listens but it has grown on me - i can hear the mastodon in it. I'm really looking foward to the whole album.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.

I've been listening to the album pretty closely for a few days and over it's pretty good. Seems like a schizophrenic release somewhat, unsure in direction but that could be intentional. No trippy parts as in the last release. Much grinding and much heaviness.

The beginning of Dying is awesome. The clean vocals really caught me off guard. And I was surprised at the mediocre breakdown section.

Wow is all I have to say.

I was kinda on the fence about their last album but this one is 100% more focused and kicks a whole lot of ass.

You hear bits and pieces of other bands in just about every song but in the end it's all Cephalic Carnage.

edit - we just got done doing an interview with Steve from the band which we'll air on the show this friday.
