Slayer

Post by Knucklehead » Mon May 21st, 2012, 11:21 am

I don't really know if we should have a separate topic for them or not. Fuckin' kings back in the '80's. You guys know the rest of the story.

I'm sure you guys are aware of the Tom Araya Scream site. I think someone here posted it awhile ago.

Anyway, someone took it a step further.

EDIT: the change in vocal treatment between Hell Awaits and Reign in Blood is really strking.

Rick Rubin
Exactly. I always knew that there was a difference, but the Metal Blade records sound so muddy, in comparison.

Not that their later albums aren't good--they are. But, World Painted Blood or even Divine Intervention just don't compare to Reign in Blood or South of Heaven. God Hates Us All was pretty good.

I'm still pissed about missing them in July, but I'm more pissed about missing Motorhead.

I'll listen to Show No Mercy all day, but honestly that's about it at this point.

Holy shit. I just saw a Jäger commercial -- the theme was that deserving manly men were being inducted into a club. This spot involves the rodeo clown.

And who is standing at the round table, raising a toast of Jäger?
