This little pup strolled up to my apartment, very malnourished, it's ears as you can see, have been clipped, honestly looks like they've been cut right the fuck off. She's missing her left or right pinky digit on her front paw. She loves people, as of right now; and she really loves playing with my 90 pound rottweiler. I was really scared how they'd react to each other, but they spent all evening wrestling and french kissing, so I mean. Uh, they ate and drank from the same bowls, I was seeing if it was maybe food aggressive of some type, but it didn't growl or anything, so good on that front. It looks like she's been abandoned, I tried calling some non-kill shelters, no luck. Tried hitting people up through my phone and I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS, no luck either. Waited to see if someone in the apartment complex to come and look for her, nothing again. She's staying on my apartment-porch, she could just leave at any time, but she won't. Right now, I don't think I could afford having another dog, and I don't want to send her to animal control. If someone on this board wants her, me and my girlfriend could totally meet someone somewhere, if they wanted her. Trying to find her a decent home to go too.
TL;DR
Anyone want a pitbull-mix?

Hey, she sounds like a great dog. Your Rottweiler sounds like a great dog too. It's really hard to find any shelter to take a found dog, simply because assholes are constantly dropping animals off there, then driving off. Are you in Dekalb County? The Animal Control facility in Dekalb is not an option. All the kennels are full, 4 to 5 dogs in one kennel, and the volunteers there are over worked. They have more animals then they can handle, so that cute pit bull might get euthanized even though she is so friendly.
You can try contacting Shelter Angels and ask them if they have any suggestions or advice. They are a rescue group, but they only pull dogs out of the pound, but they may have some help to offer. Sometimes, even if a rescue group cannot take an animal, they can offer help and you can bring her out to adoption sites that they hold on weekends, so you would be acting like a foster parent. Sorry that none of this is what you want to hear, I know.

thank you so much for replying so fast. some type of god-luck, i believe i found her a home with one of my next door neighbors! he had to haggle with his wife about it, she said yes, and their son is so happy right now. i was up all night with the pitmix, and it was all worth it for what just happened. again, thank you for replying so fast!Nyarlathotep wrote:Hey, she sounds like a great dog. That's great. That dog sounded right up my alley. All fucked up and missing parts. Just my speed. So glad she found a home so that I don't have to annoy the shit out of man to convince him "We neeeeeed another pit bull..."
Good on you, mang.
