Mod or Admins, techy question

Post by badcarburetor » Mon January 28th, 2013, 2:56 pm

Hey, I've had an private message stuck in my outbox for 5 hours.

I emptied my other folders. Then I deleted the message in the outbox and recomposed it and it still won't send.

Any idea what's up?

I've experienced that in the past as well and it somehow appeaered to remedy itself. Unfortunately I have no idea why it sometimes happens. I'm sure you've already tried logging out and in again. Not sure if deleting temporary internet files and cookies would make any difference. I'll take a look at the admin tools page too...see if anything's amiss. Keep us posted and sorry for the hang-up.

Yeah, I did all the normal troubleshooting shit and it's still sitting there.

I have also experienced this in the past, but this one seems a bit extreme.

Just thought I'd check. Thanks!

I think it means your recipient hasn't read it yet. I think when they do, it gets moved to your sent box.

It doesn't actually get "sent" anywhere. It's not the same as email. I think of it as a thread between two users only.

This is correct.

Huh, it seemed to work differently in the past.

Also, I sent a test message to another forum member who texted me that they received it, but it still shows in my Outbox.

No biggie, just giving a rundown of what happened.

Thanks y'all!

Maybe they didn't click on it yet and actually open it. So the system still considers it unread. That's the only thing I can think of.
