I personally listen to alot of music; sometimes I listen to Cannibal Corpse, Candiria, Lamb of God, Chimaria, Meshuggah,Clutch and Dillinger. Then the next minute I will listen to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bjork, Frank Sinatra and even G.Love and Special Sauce. I know what your thinking, "This guy fuckin' sucks" but let me finish.
If the musician plays their instument well - I will listen.
If the artist puts heart and soul into their lyrics and sings/screams with conviction - I will listen
If the music is original and not GENERIC - I will listen
I WILL NOT base my judgement of an artist/band on wether they fit into a genre, that my friends (ha) is being a poser, a follower and a fuckin narrow minded dumbass.
What the hell is metal doing now anyway? What the fuck is New - Metal? If an artist releases a CD and it sounds like old unevolved crap its still new metal because they are a NEW artist. You are all fighting like a buch of uneducted middle schoolers, if you like it listen if you don't like it DONT listen, It's as simple as that.
It's people like this that ARE the PROBLEM in metal today. YOU are turning metal into a clone of the RAP industry, instead of eastside westside it's thrash metal vs. Grindcore or old ass metal vs. New-metal (I really don't pay attention to genre or the terms so, sorry fellas if I got those wrong. I am sure you will catch it and comment on it later though, right?)
It is really quite sad and I am sick of this and the whole frame of mind.
I like alot of bands in the ATL. I like Burial Rites but I also like Armani Death Machine. I like Palace of the Fallen AND I like Groove stain the point is if you havent got it by now is fuck Genres/labels and I have no respect for you if that is how you pick your music

I mean you have those king sized turd poops you get from eating too much fiber, those machine gun bowl splasher poops you get from eating too much Varisty or Taco Bell, and sometimes you get those poops that are shaped like golf balls when you get sick.

razorman's got some legitimate points - don't jump all over him. I would like to see this forum open up to a larger, wider audience. The shit-talking is likely one of the reasons for our lack of growth.

i'm a proud fan of stuck mojo! and they don't deserve to be lumped with any other rap metal bands out there. stuck mojo weren't just a bunch of pricks capitalizing on a trend, they were one of the first out and they were by far the most talented.

in that sense, why does korn get some much crap for what they do? they had a very original sound. they were on the forefront. (not that im defending them i just here alot of metal fans dog them) when i heard them the first time i thought it was awesome. (not so much anymore)
