Hesher flight trouble?

Post by Azrael » Tue February 26th, 2013, 6:11 pm

Well, I've never flown before, but I am flying up to Chicago for work Thursday. Am I going to be tackled by an air marshall if I show up at the airport with a studded belt, chain wallet and leather jacket?

I hear bullet belts are almost impossible these days, otherwise you should be fine. Never had any issue anywhere in the world. Take everything off that you even remotely suspect might contain any kind of metal while you're waiting in line at the scanner/detecors (belts, boots, jackets, phones, keys, etc.). Saves a lot of time and explination. Had no idea that this would be your first time.

Never owned one, but seen plenty of bondage gear get through with no problems. As long as they scan/x-ray/whatever the fuck they do to it on the conveyor, I figure you'll be fine.

I always wear a pyramid belt and just take it off and put it through the conveyer scanner. Leather jackets and boot are no problem, but do take them off an put them through the conveyer scanner, too. Never had a problem with it flying, only at Gwinnett Arena. If you are checking luggage, you could put the bullet belt in there, just expect your bag to get inspected and it to possibly disappear.

Jackets, belts, chain wallets, shoes, cell phone, loose change, whatever, take them all off when you go through the security. They have these grey plastic bins that you put those items in. Empty all your pockets into those bins too.

This goes for everyone, hesher or not. Sometimes I'll just put my wallet and cell phone in a small pocket of my bag.

Don't forget to NOT pack any liquids or gels more than 3.4 oz. in your carry-on.

I always throw all my belt, wallet, etc. in my backpack so I don't have to mess with those plastic bins. I'm just glad the TSA doesn't make my kids take off their shoes anymore.
