Vikings
Is anyone watching this, 10 part (I think) series on the (un)History Channel?
I've seen the first two and will probably get caught up on the third when I get home tonight…and probably crack that bottle of Viking Blod that I've had in my fridge for way too long. Anyway, the show is pretty fucking good and just generally well done in style, set dressing, costuming and characters. I love that it focuses on their raids of the Motherland, England. I expect this third episode to pretty good as the first two had a lot of set-up stuff going on.
As badass as Vikings were, their hardass lifestyle make me so happy to live in a time with showers and AC.
The downside is that it has a real Vikings of Anarchy vibe with the lead character seemingly being modelled on Jax.

There's a silly hullaballoo over the History Channel's The Bible miniseries; the actor portraying Lucifer is said to bear a resemblance to Pres. Obama.badcarburetor wrote:Wut?DeathfareDevil wrote:But does Jesus look like Obama?

Ha! That makes total sense. I had a feeling it must relate to that show. I can't get that page to format on my computer, but that's cool. I'm probably dumb enough already.DeathfareDevil wrote:There's a silly hullaballoo over the History Channel's The Bible miniseries; the actor portraying Lucifer is said to bear a resemblance to Pres. HA! I know, right? Chris said "It got better after that first one." But I already have too much to keep up with on Game of Thrones and Walking Dead and the Young & the Restless. I'm exhausted.badcarburetor wrote:Every dude on here is as filthy as a member of Watain. How could you not love it?Diana wrote:Chris is loving that show. Should have done it anyway hahaKnucklehead wrote:I was sitting during lunch at Taco Mac with a co-worker when a commercial for "Vikings" came on. I explained that it was actually a pretty good show, when he asked, "and does it satisfy your bloodlust?"
It took everything I had not to yell out "whoooooooaaa Blood Lust!"
He wouldn't have gotten it.

From some website:stygian will wrote:...on a related note happy ragnar lodbrok day ya'll
"Ragnar was one of the legends most famous Vikings, Ragnar Hairy-Britches (which is what his name means in English, for his lifelong habit of wearing Goatskin trews), because on this date in 845 C.E., Ragnar attacked Paris, and ruined the place. It happened to be Easter Sunday, which forever dispels the notion that vikings had no sense of humor."
