2013 Albums

Post by Brian » Mon August 5th, 2013, 7:54 am

I think this year has wiped the floor over and over with 2012. There have been so many GREAT records released this year that it's hard to keep up. The next few months are full-on assault -- it seems every one of my favorite bands is releasing something, from AFI to In Solitude to Inquisition to Grave Miasma to Watain.

Best of 2013 so far:
Cultes des Ghoules - Henbane
Tribulation - The Formulas of Death
Magic Circle - s/t
Necrowretch - Putrid Black Sorcery
Celestial Bloodshed - Ω

Way more that I'm forgetting too.

I don't keep up too well with the new music, but can be counted among the some who didn't think Ghost's second album was completely horrible. I've been meaning to get Uncle Acid's debut for a while, so I'll wanna check out their thisyear after that.

I actually haven't thought much of releases this year so far. Top metal album is probably the new Terra Tenebrosa.

Damn sight better than last year. Some favorites so far...

Wormlust - The Feral Wisdom
Lantern - Below
Antediluvian - λόγος
Funeralium - Deceived Idealism
Abstract Spirit - Theomorphic Defectiveness
Krypts - Unending Degradation

Also highly anticipating the long awaited upcoming Grave Upheaval full length and the Black Witchery/Revenge split.

No love for Darkthrone? I'm spinning UR for the first time in a couple of months. This album kicks ass! Fenriz with clean vocals?! WTF? I love it.

I haven't been able to keep up with much so far this year. I may end up proclaiming UR as my favorite Darkthrone.

Has a bit more of a "modern" vibe than Fit for Fight, which I'm not sure I like, but it's still pretty rad.

Still waiting for GWAR to release Battle Maximus, just 11 more days!
I listened their leaked song from it though, Madness At The Core and loved it!

Also I heard and love I Want To Fuck You To Death from Huntress's new album Starbound Beast. Apparently Lemmy helped write it so that makes it even more awesome!
