I've only heard a couple songs on Youtube, but I completely agree.

If for some reason your life is lacking spacey, New Age, atmospheric black metal with lots of electronica touches akin to something Devin Townsend woud've come up with if he'd been listening to Wolves in the Throne Room while making Ocean Machine, then Progenie Terrestre Pura could be just the thing for you!

Seriously this is gonna be up there at the top of my year end list alongside Gorguts and Darkthrone.

As for other big names, the new Suffocation, Rotting Christ, and Deeds of Flesh have all been ... acceptable. I miss when these bands blew my mind. They've pretty much become dad metal. THE DAD METAL OF DEATH.

Impaled is re-recording The Dead Shall Dead Remain and releasing it on Willowtip October 29. All righty.

In my-favorite-thing-ever news, Abigor is returning to proper black metal. Here's instrumental samples of the new stuff: https://soundcloud.com/abigor-2/abigor- ... l-previews

Purtenance and Convulse have new ones coming out, hopefully good new ones. Broken Hope does too but I don't know if anyone expects greatness from Broken Hope.

Haeresiarchs of Dis and Horn are both excellent one-man black metal deals who put out new albums this year. I've only heard the former, and am underwhelmed, dammit. I hope the Horn is better.

Christ, I'm so behind. I still haven't heard the new Autopsy and Immolation. And a million other things.

edit: and coming at the end of October

I gained two Constitution points just looking at that cover.

In Solitude - Sister has jumped to the top of my list. No surprise.

Hell yes! I loved Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm and I always try to request Desolate Funeral (my favorite from that album) on WREkage but they never have it! They usually substitute it with Crush the Jewish Prophet which is awesome enough. Can't wait for the new stuff either!

I like 2 songs of the new Fleshgod Apocalypse. Minotaur and Elegy. For the most part of the cd is crap. Mix sucks ass. Seeing them live was fucking awesome though. I can appreciate a band that sounds like they do on an album Live. I also really dug the Re-evolution Cd by Amberian Dawn if you like that type of music. New vocalist has much more of a power metal voice than the last. Musically I think its put together very well. Would love to see them live as well.
