I'm sorry, but I don't think we'll be able to be friends.
Who gives you the right to come here and tell me
I have to leave this place my home
To you it's a jungle, to me it's a kingdom
Where people are free there to roam
Born with the stars we are happy and peaceful
'Til now we were left undisturbed
But you rupture the forests our gardens
And fill them with filth from your cities unheard
seven bands seven churches seven sages five magics / up the hammers to stay

Well, you did mention Mgla, so there is that. I may reconsider.[/quote]

Well, as I said, I play only and listen mostly bm, the list goes on like: Kriegsmaschine, Drudkh, Taake, Merrimack, Gris, Ascension, Dark Fortress, and so on.. many unkown german bands of course - I will probably show them to you ;)

to be or not to be (openminded :D)

I saw them once, can't remember what festival it was - it rained cats and dogs, but was fun, I wouldn't declare myself as a fan, but you can't deny their influence.

You help me to improve my english and I'll teach some german to you, deal?! :D
I am pretty sure that german is hard to learn - but you're doing well, keep practicing!

Are those the Pandas of Northern Darkness?" Ich vergess die Urlaub nie.

(OK, I needed a little help from Google Translate for that last sentence.)

I don't think you need any help with your English actually. Ik kan jouwe Nederlands helpen verbeteren in ieder geval.

Niederlands en Deutch sein ahnlich aber nicht das seggen gegen mein frau!

Abbath from Immortal mentioned the Pandas?
very good :D

Yes many words are similar, but for a German neetherlands sounds REALLY funny (You'd also better not mention this in front of your wife :D) - just as the many dialects in Germany. I live in the northern Bavaria and I'm really glad to speak a normal understandable German :D You often even don't understand your own countrymen..

How far from Erfurt are you? If my map reading skills are correct, that is only slightly north of northern Bavaria.

My in-laws speak a strange dialect called Twents that is supposedly similar to German I've been told but I don't hear it. I wish they would just speak proper Dutch so that I could join in the conversation, but they are stubborn folks (just like their daughter). I can get the idea of the conversation but by the time I want to add something to it the subject has been changed. Habst du ein dialect auch oder sprechst du allein Duetch?

I live about 165 km (100 miles) to the south of Erfurt.
In Erfurt they speak a really funny kind of German, as it was part of Eastern Germany in the past.
Well, yeah your map reading is correct, but measured in German proportions it's not "just round the corner" :D
Sometimes there are some good concerts, then we drive to Erfurt.
You've been there before?

Moloc,
I've never heard this "Twents", but I looked up the Internet - the province they speak it in, is really close to Germany, right?

In Northern Bavaria (Frankonia, near Würzburg to be more specific) the most old people (maybe farmers) or some younger ones born in small villages have an own accent (sometimes it sounds kinda dumb..), but my parents gladly taught me to speak almost standard German.

I'm trying to save a bunch of money to make it to Party.San Open Air in August, it is held just outside Erfurt. My girlfriend and I would probably spend some time in Frankfurt beforehand.

95% sure that I'm Party San bound this year as well. Ahab, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Necrowretch, Inquisition, Grave, Marduk, etc. is all sounding pretty good.
