mgła are the candle under the bushel. If early Darkthrone and early Immortal are the sound of frost-bitten winter, mgła occupies that liminal spot. They are the sound of northern autumn. Even when the drums are blasting and one guitar is tremolo-picked, there is some slower, arpeggiated figure to remind us all that death is not far.

I thought they were disappointing at MDF last year.

Definitely not the case at Prague Death Mass 2013 -- one of the highlights of an already stacked bill.

I think "Trapped Under Ice" is a worst song than "Escape". The former is one of my least favorite songs off the first five.

"Trapped Under Ice" is one of my favorites.

(Sorry, this should be in a thread called "Too Much Coffee")

Like "Stairway to Heaven" and "Freebird", I don't ever need to hear "One" again.

But goddamn the last half of "One", after the vocals, fucking smokes.

Ha! I forgot all about this post.

I've been listening to Metallica since '84. Granted, the majority of that has been limited to the first two. But I give zero fucks what anyone thinks about that.
