gas prices bitching thread

Post by Greg » Wed August 31st, 2005, 9:58 pm

This morning, as I was filling up my tank at $2.73 a gallon, I was thinking about how soon it would be before we cracked the $3 range. Little did I know it would be in about 8 hours. Now looking back, deciding to fill up this morning was one of the smartest moves I've made in a long time.

Did anyone get hit by the ridiculous gouging today? The highest I saw today was $3.99 for a regular-grade gallon of gas, can anyone beat that?

I'm not one of those people that goes and buys $3,000 of shit at Kroger when we get snow flurries, however I'm hoping to avoid some lines and fill up my car when family guy is over. I've got a quarter tank and I don't want to risk it if we don't get the lines going soon. The prices i've seen around the east cobb have been about $2.99/gallon

It was $3.19/gallon at the BP on Northside at about 9:30 PM.
This shit is nuts.
I feel really bad for you, Greg.

I just paid 3.09 on Hwy 92 in Woodstock.

I passed like, 3 gas stations that were dry before I found one that wasn't.

from the AJC: "Atlanta's not out of gas," said Jim Tudor, president of the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores. Some stations might be out, "but it wasn't because there wasn't gas available. It was because there was a run on these stores."
dumb asses. I was recently in Toronto and paying around $4/gallon - actually who the fuck knows how much after having to convert Canadian$/Liter to US$/Gallon. Anyway, I hurried back to the rude US for some cheap crude. And now dumb panic is gonna fuck it all up for me???

I do mind, the Dude minds. This will not stand, ya know, this aggression will not stand, man.

Actually I went home and broke out the old hack saw and went to work on the mossberg. Seems that the best thing to bring with you when you plan on doing some haggling. Me personally I laughed at all the dumb fucks willing to pay 4.50$ a gal .The whole time I am thinking tomorrow will be a different story and I was right. Not only that but I know my car will run another 20 or so miles on fumes. But I think I will keep a pice of card board in the car to put over my license plate for when I start driving off at the pump.

so we are fucked and you think its a good thing because price gouging is just supply and demand. Is this what you are saying?

I think these other countries are over charging us to make our economy fail. We need to start drilling in our own country, we have the resources let's fuckin' use them!

prices went up and gas ran out because people said it would - its a self fulfilling prophecy. i heard the price of a barrel of oil actually went down yesterday. we need more refineries, that's the biggest problem since there were several damaged from the hurricane. and i'll for drilling for the oil we have sitting in our own damn backyards. environmentalists can go fuck themselves - we've long since had technology to get the oil without disturbing a few caribou. when gas prices are back to normal by next week i'll smile and fill up like usual.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.

You are always trying to make others sound like they don't know what they are talking about. You know everything don't you Holly. I don't make alot of money and shit like this affects me very hard. I don't live at home or live in a dorm. I have a mortgage, a job that sucks, a wife and child I have to support and I don't need this shit!!!!!
Get that?
