According to Blabbermouth.net legendary Norweigan black metallers EMPEROR will be reuniting for at least two festivals in 2006. Headlining both the Inferno festival, to take place April 13th-15th in Oslo, Norway, as well as the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 3-5, 2006 in Wacken, Germany.

Commented EMPEROR members Ihsahn, Samoth and Trym in a statement: "Greetings, metalheads of the world! We are proud to announce that EMPEROR will headline Wacken Open Air 2006. Join us, as we re-enter the nightside to chant anthems of equilibrium, fire and demise!"

thanks for getting my hopes up over nothing.

But fucking hell though... this year Wacken got probably the only ever live Bloodbath show that will ever happen and now an Emperor reunion in 2006? How can they possibly top that in 2007?

They could reconstitute Dead's brains, and have him return from the Abyss for a one-off gig with Mayhem. Graveland could announce the start of their World Tour.. Avulsed could relocate to Atlanta..
