this past week i saw.....

DOG SOLDIERS
UNDEAD
HIGH TENSION

i'd already seen high tension at the movies but rented it so my wife could watch it. if it didn't have stupid plot twists it would have been a really good movie but instead its just a pretty cool movie. undead was quite fun and enjoyable. DOG SOLDIERS though was freakin GREAT! if you haven't seen it yet and you like werewolfs, machine guns, intestines and british accents you're missing out! think NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD but with special forces and werewolfs instead of zombies.

oh, and i watched KICKING AND SCREAMING last night which was pretty good over a 40oz.

Last week:
Waiting... - HILARIOUS
School Daze - Spike Jones!
Reign of Fire - kinda cheesey, but I love Christian Bale

This weekend:
The Jacket (I fell asleep and still have to watch the end)
CUBE - pretty ok, kinda cheesey
A History of Violence - pretty damn sweet, go see it

Still to watch this weekend:
The Eye
High Tension - I've already seen it and fucking loved it, but we're gonna rent the unrated version so I can see the real cut and so Rich can see it for the first time
The Gate - one of my favourite movies from when I was little
Men Behind the Sun - Chinese movie about Japanese POW torture during WWII

Men Behind the Sun is pretty disturbing. I wish I had more than a shitty dub of it.

I think that I Spit On Your Grave is an excellent film. It is very hard to watch, but it captures the sick brutality of rape in a vivid and disturbing way. Her revenge is sweeeet. If you haven't checked out the new DVD edition with Joe bob Briggs doing the commentary you ought to. He is hilarious, but kind of thought provoking as well.
