Sept 6 - Danzig 0r Doro?
Anyone going to either show?

Neither unfortunately. Was hoping to find a cheap last minute ticket for Doro. No go this time.

Wow... I would not have guessed that. I was hoping they'd throw us a discounted bone like some years back.

They absolutely priced a lot of potential folks out. I know the small handful of local regulars all attended on not-full-price tickets.

Would've been cool, but I wasn't going to pay $125 to see three bands, and I actually enjoy some Swallow the Sun. Oh well...

I went to Danzig, only because he was playing the first record in its entirety. It ripped.
That's the only record of his I really love. The rest are meh to me. So I sat out the remaining songs.
And, the Roxy blows. You have to pack a lunch to get there, no convenient (cheap) parking, too many people, etc etc etc.

I gave it some thought, but I saw Danzig play his whole first record (or 90% of it) back in 1988. No need to sully those memories with Tommy Victor in place of John Christ. How did Glen sound?Knucklehead wrote: ↑Sat October 21st, 2023, 9:03 pmI went to Danzig, only because he was playing the first record in its entirety. It ripped.

I last saw him in '90, when the second record came out, so I was equally hesitant. Tommy Victor's guitar sound didn't really fit the feel of the songs -- it was too abrasive, for my taste. Those songs need an analog sound -- overdriven, but not harsh.zla vydra wrote: ↑Sun October 22nd, 2023, 6:37 pmI gave it some thought, but I saw Danzig play his whole first record (or 90% of it) back in 1988. I was also apprehensive about Glen's voice. I had seen some videos in the past few years where he sounded reeded and thin. But man -- he was belting the shit out of those songs. A lot of the delivery was clipped, like in the live Misfits' songs. But his voice was just as powerful as when I last saw him.
