Other bands playing:
Gospel of the Horns
Cemetery Urn
Holocaust Wolves of the Apocalypse
Thornspawn
Nuclear Desecration
Obeisance
Rituals of a Blasphemer
Father Befouled
Devastator
Nosvrolok
Prosanctus Inferi
Strangely, Profanatica is not headlining. That honor goes to HWotA, which is Damon Bloodstorm (Cemetery Urn) fronting a band playing Bestial Warlust songs (covers?). If not familiar, Mr. Bloodstorm was Bestial Warlust's vocalist. It would have been cool to have Angelcorpse on the bill especially since they are touring out west with the GotH/CU/HWotA tour package. Angelcorpse has added a second guitarist...FINALLY...so it would be interesting to hear/see them now.

Hardly. Profanatica sounded terrible because of Ledney's vocal effects overriding the PA. For all of the buildup Profanatica's performance was a supreme letdown. Cemetery Urn crushed and did Gospel of the Horns. Both bands were killing machines. Did not stay to see Holocaust Wolves of the Apocalypse...Of the other bands, I thought Prosanctus Inferi were pretty good. The featured guys from Nuclear Desecration, whom I missed because I got there an hour or so into the show.MS_39455 wrote:So was this show as unbelievable cool as I am imagining it was?

Cemetery Urn defined "punishment." Much better than Damon Bloodstorm's other act, Kutabare.
Alex (ex-Demoncy, Negative Existence distro) played bass for Profanatica. I assume they did practice before their performance. One could say they did well enough, but I was hoping for so much more.
Nosvrolok were traditional Scandi-inspired black metal. Father Befouled obviously worship at the altar of early Incantation. Actually, they were not bad, but not revelatory either.
Missed Ritual of a Blasphemer but one of the members gave me a CD-r demo because I was not a "fucking faggot" (like the others I assume) because I was wearing an Ofermod t-shirt. Funny...their demo is passable. As a matter of fact they sound a lot like Nosvrolok.

The Rock Bottom Tattoo Bar was a dump. I believe someone told me it was an old cantina. Air conditioning was non-existent and the toilet was...well, you can imagine. Sam's Burger Joint were the fest used to be held was much nicer from what a couple of locals told me.
Rumor was afoot that Angelcorpse might play a "secret" gig--they were then touring with GoTH, Cemetery Urn, etc., but they never appeared.
According to others this is to be the last "Sacrifice" on North American shores, but I heard that type of proclamation was made after the two previous fests. Next one may be in Greece...?
