I had a lot of fun at this show too. Eluveite was great, I really enjoyed them. Alestorm was a lot of fun. A few people told me they weren't into them which made me curious, and I liked what I saw. Entertaining and fun.
Which then made Belphegor even more boring than I normally find them. I like what I've heard of their recordings, but they just don't do it for me live. Those dudes take themselves way too seriously. I felt like I was watching a cartoon parody of a metal band.
Vried was good, and I caught the last song of the opening band, which was entertaining given the singer's belly dancing.
Alan, that wasn't my car, but the car of Amanda's friend! I parked her car for then took off in my own.

I wasn't too familiar with them aside from hearing Brian play them on WREKage occasionally, and I really liked them. Bought their most recent CD later at the merch table.GameFreac wrote:I missed Kivimetsan Druidi.
Vreid was better live but I still can't get into them. Some of the riffs are good but other than that, they do nothing for me. It was cool to see some of the members of Windir live though...I also wished they would of played a cover but I guess they're moving on. It's weird how I absolutely love Windir, but can't get into Vreid. Oh well.
Yeah, he is at pretty much every show!I saw the dude with the long red hair that I see at every show (not sure of the forum name though...always forget),
So, he doesn't go to church at any other time, just while Alestorm is playing?then met Generubin for the 1st time, then saw Brian. I was gonna talk to you guys but my friend I was with wanted to go find my other friend that was with us because he randomly just disappears all the time. He was outside smoking of course. I also saw this 1 dude I see sometimes and this 1 dude that goes to my church during Alestorm.

I was keeping an eye out for you and your Ensiferum shirt...but there were quite a few Ensiferum shirts there.

I was happy the tour had drawn that many people, too.Basically, there were a lot of people at this show...I was so surprised at the turnout honestly.
I thought they hit their stride after the first or second song and I enjoyed their set. I became a fan for life, though, AFTER the regular show, outside in the side-road. Their lead singer was drunk and hysterically funny in a good way. He sees me and Ripper walking back toward my car...."Hi, you're my two new best friends!"Alestorm were fun live, but I can't get into them. I love Korpiklaani and "fun" folk metal, but I don't like them or Swashbuckle at all. They were funny and you can never go wrong with a keytar, but still didn't really like them.
And he requested a Bal-Sagoth song to play on WREKage. By its long title. And then began singing the lyrics, lying flat on his back on the street.

I thought they finally 'clicked' for me on about their fourth song, which was more melodic and less trigger-drummy.This was the 3rd time I saw Belphegor and this time was the worst. The singer sounded horrible tonight for some reason but the set got better as it was ending. I don't know what it was, but they were not that good tonight. I still enjoyed them anyways.
It was hard to take them tooo seriously when the lead singer's speaking voice sounds like a cross between the Cookie Monster, and Ludo from the movie Labyrinth. "Rocks friends!"

The crowd DID cheer a bit louder for metal than acoustic....but I think they wanted to play the acoustic anyway. Which wasn't really acoustic, just all female-vocals, basically.Eluveitie was amazing. I got rail and even though the sound wasn't perfect, you could actually hear Chringle most of the time, the hurdy gurdy, violin, and sometimes hear the flutes. I was PISSED when everyone screamed for more acoustic because I read that if people scream for more metal, they played the Song of Life (which is my favorite song and they have never played it here) instead of Omnos.
haha, if Tommy isnt there it isnt a metal showWREKage-Paul wrote:Yeah, he is at pretty much every show!I saw the dude with the long red hair that I see at every show (not sure of the forum name though...always forget),
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

Haha...I did kinda word that weird...anyways, he goes to my church and I see him at shows sometimes. He wanted to leave early during Dark Tranquillity one time when he gave me a ride because he had to work in the morning and I said hell no. He was pissed but I wasn't gonna miss any of Dark Tranquillity headlining.WREKage-Paul wrote:So, he doesn't go to church at any other time, just while Alestorm is playing?

And I'm pretty sure people screamed louder for Acoustic because I was on the rail and heard everyone behind me. They split the setlist. If people screamed for more metal, they played the Song of Life and Tarvos and if they screamed for acoustic, they played Omnos and Brictom. You can see where it's divided in 2 in this picture.

Fucking lame. I can't complain because Eluveitie was headlining but I start to get picky with certain things the 3rd time I see a band.
