I hope you're joking...

2 words for you: St. Anger. Your argument is now null and void. :D [/quote]
Well maybe I should have clarfied. They should continue to play if they are still at their peak. Garth left when he had everything going well, he was the in thing. Metallica should have all been killed when Cliff died, think how great things would be now! Napster would still be here for free, we all wouldn't hate Lars, and when the station played their music, no one would have to add a "Yeah, that was Metallica, wait just for me to say this before we get some angry calls..." Or "Yeah that was Metallica, damn I hate Lars." It would give Dave Mustaine a cheap thrill of his enemies being destroyed. Dan I heard was displeased with Dave now, which I don't think is warrented. But that's a different whole debate. But I just know if I was Dave and my sworn enemy(ies) was dead, I would not help but find a devious smile on my face, I think Dave would be the same way. :ev1l::3v1l: :D

you all will come to find out that i'm a fighter in the metallica army!!!

i don't think that they should've died after cliff......and justice for all was still a great album and to be honest...so was the black album. it wasn't metal but it was still a great album. and even load and re-load are good albums(that i don't own) they were just way "not metal" but the fact still remains that they didn't sound like anything that was going on in music at the time. so kudos to metallica.........except for st. anger.......that one just hurt!!

can't wait to see them though on november 13!

...And Justice kicked ass, the black album was a good hard rock album, and everything after that sucked.

I think that's the general consensus amongst music fans, save for a few who think the band died with Cliff. ...And Justice For All is probably my favorite Metallica album, I like the slower, heavier stuff they did on that album, and "One" is one of the songs that got me into metal in the first place.

The video for One, I saw it just the other day when they were on "Headbanger's Ball" (it isn't the real show) and it was really a level above most of the metal videos of the day and time. :m3t4l:

St. Anger the song is better than anything on Load or Reload. Shitty or not--and you could go on for days about HOW shitty--it's still better material than what they served us in the '90s.

when NAPALM DEATH played the Masquerade in 2003, that one is a highlight.
I was amazed at when a song was over, stopping from breakneck speed/brutality, you could hear the audience sigh in relief immediately after the music stopped then started the applause/cheers . Ive never seen/heard a band have that effect on an audience.

I'm glad you enjoyed Napalm Death. When I saw them they sucked....I was working security at the Ritz in Tampa. There were a couple of small skirmishes in the pit and they kept stopping the show in the middle of songs and threatening to walk off stage if there were any more violence.

Ha ha ha. I was there, too. Bought a ticket outside and dragged myself in as Living Colour ended.

Best show? I dunno. Tossup between:

Van Halen, Omni ('84)
Priest, Omni ('84?)
Maiden, Omini ('84?)
Black Flag, 688 ('85?)
COC, Metroplex ('85?)
Slayer, Civic Center ('85? '86?)
Caspar Brotzmann Massaker, Scrap Bar ('95?)
Anal Cunt/Eyehategod, Scrap Bar ('96?)
