on the entire show did you notice that Burial Rites was playing? Nice way to support a really good band that hopefully does pass your metalness test. I truely hope that Kshatriya will do well and get signed to a label one day. Say that happens - are you going to then publicly bash the other bands on the label if they don't pass your test? Do you think that will float? Look at it as being a little more professional - it will pay off.

This forum and the eventual site to accompany it are meant to support the entire metal scene. It is not meant to be an area for a clique that already knows what's going on with each other. The goals are 1) fans experiencing more music & shows and 2) bands getting more exposure & encouragement. It's time to think big and kick things up.

Oh yeah. And I agree with everything Bob said. All I will add is if you want to talk shit do it in the general forum. It has no place here or in the Bands forum.
You can make all th threads you want about "Children of Bodom is for TEH GAYZ" or "LEVEL SUCKS MONKEY NUTS!!".
Don't do it in here.

Yeah, lets abolish all opinions and support all "metal" because well, they mean well, they do it with conviction, so lets just say hell yeah and inject PBR into our eyes! Pointless insulting doesn't do much good, but critical discussions are a good thing. Just say no to Metal Fundamentalists. Sometimes shit is ShiT.

True but it has no place on a thread where a band is announcing a show. Make up your own thread if you'd like to talk shit about them.

Opinions are like assholes and you'd be full of shit without one. I just don't think it helps anyone to be flingin poo at each other like a bunch of monkeys. Pointless insulting does absolutely no good and reflects poorly on the insulter to anyone with sense.

I've seen this happen here for about 15 years - people complaining that there's no scene, trashing each others bands and going nowhere. It's all very self-fulfilling. The bands that have received recognition beyond 285 have all had a pretty professional attitude.

So it's my opinion that we should try to grow and do better. goodluck with the pbr!

I personally listen to alot of music; sometimes I listen to Cannibal Corpse, Candiria, Lamb of God, Chimaria, Meshuggah,Clutch and Dillinger. Then the next minute I will listen to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bjork, Frank Sinatra and even G.Love and Special Sauce. I know what your thinking, "This guy fuckin' sucks" but let me finish.
If the musician plays their instument well - I will listen.
If the artist puts heart and soul into their lyrics and sings/screams with conviction - I will listen
If the music is original and not GENERIC - I will listen
I WILL NOT base my judgement of an artist/band on wether they fit into a genre, that my friends (ha) is being a poser, a follower and a fuckin narrow minded dumbass.
What the hell is metal doing now anyway? What the fuck is New - Metal? If an artist releases a CD and it sounds like old unevolved crap its still new metal because they are a NEW artist. You are all fighting like a buch of uneducted middle schoolers, if you like it listen if you don't like it DONT listen, It's as simple as that.
It's people like this that ARE the PROBLEM in metal today. YOU are turning metal into a clone of the RAP industry, instead of eastside westside it's thrash metal vs. Grindcore or old ass metal vs. New-metal (I really don't pay attention to genre or the terms so, sorry fellas if I got those wrong. I am sure you will catch it and comment on it later though, right?)
It is really quite sad and I am sick of this and the whole frame of mind.
I like alot of bands in the ATL. I like Burial Rites but I also like Armani Death Machine. I like Palace of the Fallen AND I like Groove stain the point is if you havent got it by now is fuck Genres/labels and I have no respect for you if that is how you pick your music
