So how was Denial Fiend?
I really wanted to catch them, but got there too late. I loved their first album and was stoked to see them on the bill. Then i saw that nearly the whole line up has changed and that sorta cooled me out.

Honestly... pretty terrible. Granted, I'm not familiar with anything they've put out and I walked outside about halfway through their set but what I heard seemed to have a fair amount of nu-metal sounding parts which is a no no.badcarburetor wrote:So how was Denial Fiend?

Yeah I got to talk to Trevor afterwards and he thought the diving was nuts (in a good way) I don't think he had a problem with it at all lol I don't know what the others thought of it though.TheKshatriya wrote: As for the dives, the band was stoked people were diving for them.
Basically, if you don't want to get moshed or jumped on don't be up front. Metal shows used to be extemely wild so don't bitch about people getting wild at shows.
And I agree with the second statement. I could care less if people mosh or not (I used to mosh all the time when I was still a teenager) and like you said if I don't want to get hit, I'll just move! It's a metal show, it's gonna get wild!
Like I said earlier, the ONLY complaint I had about this show was the smoking. It wasn't completely immersed in smoke but it managed to fuck up my vocal cords for a few days and that is not cool. I don't care if you choose to smoke, just do it outside

Nu-metal? How odd. If you run into their first album, They Rise, check it out. To me it's good occasioned groovy. Death metal goodness.Ryan wrote:Honestly... pretty terrible. I'll give it a shot, it might just have been the way it came off live since I hadn't listened to much of them before. Plus, they just put a new album out (or are about to) and have been pushing the fact that the new stuff is way different so I wouldn't be surprised if they played a bunch of stuff from that.badcarburetor wrote:Nu-metal? You are probably right that they played heavily from the new album since the entire line-up save for one dude changed since the last album. Even Kam Lee was dumped. But, turning your band towards nu metal in 2011 is a strange move.Ryan wrote:I'll give it a shot, it might just have been the way it came off live since I hadn't listened to much of them before. It did occur to me at the last minute to say something like, "Not even Tommy is that metal", but I decided against it. Apparently, I stand corrected.Ryan wrote:jesus christ please let this happen...MS_39455 wrote:And I'm going to start smoking and give each one of you a flying Macho King elbow drop at the next show.
