MDF 2014: May 22-25

First wave of bands are apparently booked and will be announced late next months. They are still working on the venue, I doubt they will have it at Sonar again, but who knows.

We are less than 11 months away people!!!

I still can't believe I got to go this year, and for all 4 days! Yay for family days & scheduling fuckups. That's why I was able to go all 4 as opposed to just Sat & Sun. Still think it's funny I walked out of a flight sim literally 1.5 hours before I took off for Baltimore. The airport is 25 minutes away too...yeah, I had to haul ass! I hope I get to go next year too! That'll be year #7 for me

Hope I can finally go next year. I seriously could have went this year but figured I'd still be in school. For some reason I thought it was like the first week of May and didn't realize that until 3 days before.

I don't want it in some field somewhere. Not wanting camping and such. We're metalheads, not hippies, most need conditioner. Being able to walk to the hotel is cool.

There's no way to establish the context of what lead up to that. The security guys weren't just randomly molesting people. I didn't see that but I did see one guy who seemed to deserve the accosting he got. Sometimes people just need to calm the fuck down and be civil.

No, they were dicks.

I saw them yelling at some guy, because he wasn't clearing the exit lane quickly enough, with his phone in his hand. I assumed that he was trying to meet up with his friends. This wasn't even at the end of a night, and it wasn't like traffic was blocked.

Anyway, they started pushing him back, eventually pushing him about 50 feet away from the entrance. At least once, they pushed him directly on the throat. One security guy kept turning around, asking the other guys, "can I hit him now?" and the others were laughing. They were clearly using unwarranted force and were willing to escalate their use of force.

They were dicks.

It should be held in the woods (where there are no noise ordinances to cut bands' sets short) with transportation to and from downtown hotels via The Heavy Metal Bus(es)!!!
