They tore it up opening for Candlemass in 1991. Only problem was that only about 5 of the 30 people who showed up had any interest in them at all.

I saw them fairly recently downstairs at the old Masquerade, and they weren't terrible. Two guys from Atlanta were on guitar, and Shafer was just doing vocals. Oh, wow. That was 2009....

They played here in '09 with that lineup. From what I've seen, it looks like nowadays Atheist is just K. Shaefer + others, doesn't look like even Steve Flynn's been playing out with them anymore.

I went. Decent show but the sound was pretty muddy throughout. Vitriol were really impressive. Atheist were decent, not bad but not fantastic. Withered and Cattle Decap were good but I've seen way better sets from both bands.
