here's a link to the MDF forum. Someone posted a letter written by this Lonnie dude who used to own Sonar. Sounds like the current management fucked up real bad...

and yeah, I've been following all the updates on I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS. I bet it'll be held at Bourbon Street...it's literally right around the corner from Sonar and from what I can tell, it might be about the same size and nicer. Only thing is, Sick Rick is performing at Bourbon Street Saturday night. I'm wondering if they'll move him to another venue...I guess we'll find out tonight or tomorrow morning!

There are still a few festivals I would like to go to: Hellfest, Hole in the Sky, Wacken, maybe Roadburn and even the mighty MDF.

You can never be too old for metal festivals!
I can understand if you feel too old to be near the pit though. Even I feel like that sometimes lol. Sometimes, you just don't want to get touched! (I mean get pushed or knocked over, not if someone brushes me as they walk by lol) If that's the case, I'll stand near the back or something. But y'all know me, you'll probably see me crowdsurfing or moshing at some point before the show's end!
As for MDF, still no news on the venue.

too old and intolerant is exactly right...i went last year and i was done by Sat..when ur pushing 40 ur tolerance for crowds lessens and the heat didn't help either..i could do a one dayer maybe. i'd have to say MDF was the best fest i've gone to though. I went to Milwaukee in 2002 which was cool and that one and only shitty Sun and Steel fest in Tampa that sucked. I had to go to MDF to cleanse the suckiness of that Tampa fest. MDF definitley was the better fest as far as organiztion and bands go for sure. U guys enjoy.. they're definitely some killer bands this year. Would love to see Coroner.Diana wrote:Oh sorry, is your hearing going Old Timer? CLACK YOUR CANE ON YOUR WHEELCHAIR IF YOU CAN HEAR ME.Knucklehead wrote:Too old? I want my A/C, I want my standard regulation toilet -- with toilet paper & sink -- and I sometimes like to be able to see the stage. Also, fuck the sun.Acidic Consumption wrote:too old and intolerant is exactly right...i went last year and i was done by Sat..when ur pushing 40 ur tolerance for crowds lessens and the heat didn't help either..Diana wrote:Oh sorry, is your hearing going Old Timer? You whippersnappers go hold it down for us and bring back good blackout stories. We're just gonna get the Early Bird Special and watch Wheel of Fortune.

OK, so here it the latest. We have a couple of options on the table now for a venue, and we need to sort through the details today before deciding on one of them. Long story short, we aren't in a position to lose money by moving the fest, so please be patient a bit longer. In either scenario, it will be downtown, and your hotel reservations do not need to be changed.
Sidenote for Sonar:
Sonar
Today was a good one. I think Sonar will be able to open within 2 weeks and many if not of the all of shows scheduled from that point on should be able to occur as originally planned. Its definitely a fight but we are still in it! Sorry I have not been online more but I'm running my ass off to try and fix this!
Sonar
THE CRASS SHOW TOMORROW WILL TAKE PLACE AT SONAR CLUB STAGE!!! ALL TICKETS WILL BE HONORED (and there will be no upcharge)!! THERE WILL BE NO BOOZE INSIDE OR OUT!
SHOW IS ALL AGES!! THERE WILL BE TIX AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR!!
