I read somewhere that Christopher Bownes (vocalist of Alestorm) said Alestorm was offerend a spot on the tour, but a "vicious rumor" was being spread around that Primordial isn't a big fan of the upbeat style of folk/battle metal.
Well, maybe they haven't heard Korpiklaani or Eluveitie. And also the organizers of Heidenfest (spl?) organize this as well and for some reason Primordial ended up lower on the bill, despite being higher up on Heidenfest and having a lesser turnout of something, I don't know.
All I know is that this is going to be fucking amazing.

That's because "folk/battle metal" is garbage; I'd love to see Primordial drop off of this shitfest along with Moonsorrow and headline a tour like they deserve to with some decent support from a band like Wolves in the Throne Room or another one of those Weakling clones.The_Sideburns wrote:I read somewhere that Christopher Bownes (vocalist of Alestorm) said Alestorm was offerend a spot on the tour, but a "vicious rumor" was being spread around that Primordial isn't a big fan of the upbeat style of folk/battle metal.

As much as I love metal, I just can't get into the whole folk metal thing. It just doesn't settle right with me. I like just a few bands, but most of it is just so blah. But whatever. The world of metal is quite vast, and there's plenty more out there to like.
With that said, I really couldn't care any less about a tour like this. You guys have fun.

I can keep dreaming.

I got an e-mail from the singer of Kataklysm that there might be a Heidenfest USAThe_Sideburns wrote:I read somewhere that Christopher Bownes (vocalist of Alestorm) said Alestorm was offerend a spot on the tour, but a "vicious rumor" was being spread around that Primordial isn't a big fan of the upbeat style of folk/battle metal.

Like I said, I like a FEW folk bands. Equilibrium and Asmegin come to mind. I wouldn't mind seeing them.Metalfreak wrote:oh I will have fun!Vhyle wrote:Agreed.slut rag wrote:all these bands "suck".

Swiss folk band ELUVEITIE has been forced to pull out of the "PaganFest America: Part II" tour, which is scheduled to kick off in late April in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Commented the tour organizers: "We've decided that it would be wiser to wait for the band to return in the fall since they've already played during Paganfest America 2008's touring cycle. On the bright side, ELUVEITIE will return on a new tour we are currently working on (yes…we're working on something very cool for this fall) where ELUVEITIE will play an acoustic and a full metal set and it will be worth the wait. With this being said, we have increased the playing times of all the bands on Paganfest America and whether you come for your favorite or for all of the bands, you will get the set time you and the bands deserve!"
"Paganfest America: Part II" will featured Finland's folk freaks KORPIKLAANI as the headliners, Ireland's PRIMORDIAL, Finland's MOONSORROW, Canada's BLACKGUARD (formerly known as PROFUGUS MORTIS) and straight off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, New Jersey's crazy pirate metal drunks SWASHBUCKLE as the opening party-starters throughout the tour.
Some girl was talking about this on the Paganfest myspace but I thought she was just being a dumb bitch. But this is great news. I love Eluveitie but I was so pissed they were so high up on the bill and they needed to give more bands another chance this time around. Hopefully Moonsorrow will get an hour now. Hell yeah!
Now we just need an Atlanta date
