I was supposed to work but I got lucky.
I went into work to ask a lady if she could switch shifts with me and she wasn't there...so I went in today to ask her and she wasn't there again because she is sick. So I thought I was screwed but this girl that's my age asked me what concert and I told her. She's like "oh I love death metal! I'll switch with you. I can work your night and you can work my morning instead."
So I get off at 3pm and I'll be there just in time for Beneath the Massacre and Origin so it all worked out. She also gave me $20 for a Beneath the Massacre shirt for her.
Can't wait.

I was real impressed by al the bands I came out to see yesterday.
Origin absolutely killed it, and I actually thought they had a decent mix for live sound. You could hear both guitar and bass and the drums wernt too overwhelming. Despite their short setlist, they got in quite a few songs. This was definitely one of the better origin shows ive seen.
Dying Fetus was fucking awesome too, the two new tracks they played sounded really solid and left me pretty excited about the new album. Praise the lord slammed hard as fuck!
Suffocation was awesome as usual, they have such a heavy live tone its fucking awesome. I thought they might loose a little bit of their live edge using those ENGL powerballs instead of the usual mesa or peavy heads they use, but it sounded fine. I thought it was kind of cool what they did playing only songs from effigy and blood oath. Cataclysmic purification was heavy as fuck live! So was infecting the crypts and catatonia, where was liege of inveracity and pierced from within though?
I was suprised by Necrophagist, I thought after seeing them a few times I was going to be bored with them, but those guys came out and played those songs note for note. I agree with dan the live sound was real drum heavy, but when the sound guy did manage to get it right, it sounded great, they have those ENGL amps tweaked to Tech death perfection. The new song they played sounded like their stab at playing deafeated sanity riffs! Im excited for the new record.
All in all, this was a great show, I had alot of fun at this one.

got there for Suffo and Necro
Suffocation were great, but no songs from Pierced from Within. They did pull out some stuff from the first album though.
Necrophagist were awesome, I don't know what you guys are talking about with the drums, but I could hear everything perfectly from where I was standing.

Just for the sake of curiousity, did anyone get there early enough to see Blackguard? Necrophagist always seems to have a quiet guitar mix, but I could still hear every note clearly from where I was and I couldn't agree more with Kyle about those Engl's. Seemingly atypical set lists for everyone that night, which was cool (though I was pretty adamant about hearing something from Pierced From Within).
