If you really think Cynic can headline over BTBAM, LOL.

why the hell aren't they headlining? What is this world coming to? Oh well, should still be a great show (and a dream come true for me).
Why aren't Cynic headlining?

Because most people wouldn't know good music if it anally raped them.

The 15 year hiatus probably didn't do them any favors either.

And hey, it could be worse. Last time they played here they opened for Cannibal Corpse. Now, I love CC, but whoever put those 2 together couldn't have had the most solid idea of what either sounded like.

There's also the part where the last BTBAM sold something like 13k in the first week, and all of their albums have gone on to sell over 50k. Cynic can't do that.

Also...

BTBAM > Cynic.

This, I can not argue.

Regardless of the number of people who would most likely agree with you, *see above* I do not. I have nothing against them. I actually dig what I've heard from them. But Cynic is on a musical level that is theirs alone. They're pretty much a genre unto themselves.

What's funny is that almost the exact same discussion is going on at another forum I'm on, but it's a guy upset that Devin isn't headlining.

Peoples just makes me gigle. I'm just happy as hell to see Cynic and Devin. I don't really give a fuck who is playing in what order.

I figured most people won't agree with me. I fucking love Cynic. I just love BTBAM more. I'm excited to see all 4 bands on this show, which doesn't happen often.

BTBAM just reminds me of Crotchduster if they were to take themselves seriously.

Haha, that's pretty accurate. I thought Alaska was okay, but the following album, who's name I don't care enough to look up, was a fucking joke. Playing erratically doesn't necessarily equate to progression.

Then again, what do I know?

Man people all over the internet are bitching that BTBAM is headlining.

People need to actually listen to them instead of hearing 1 album once, not getting it, then deleting it.

And BTBAM has sold more records, has a new album that just came out, and are overall more popular right now. I don't get how people don't understand that.

I have no problem with BtB&M headlining, due to sales alone.

I -do- wish Devy was getting a longer set...unlike Cynic, with two CDs, Devy has eight or nine solo CDs under his belt, plus his SYL material (which he wouldn't be playing anyway, but....)

Well, what I'm actually saying is that I wish Devy were doing a headlining tour...but I'll take any Devy, any Cynic and any StS I can get. BtB&M is a cool bonus.

this^

while btbam should be headlining, as they will be bringing out more people than anyone else, they are absolutely fucking terrible.

But I better have Saturday off anyways...I already got my ticket. I'll find out Wednesday.

I'll be there. Really would love to see Cynic live. Saw BTBAM with Opeth and DT a while back. Wasn't too impressed but I'll definitely give them another shot.

I've been jamming the new one quite a bit. I need to throw in Focus just for old times sake.

Really looking forward to this show.
